View Full Version : A funny thing happened in Gadgetzan and Southshore

It's the not the first time I've been to Gadgetzan, in fact, I have been there many times.
But on this occasion, things were different, very different: I was killed by a "Bruiser". I wasn't attacked instantly, of course, I was allowed to stroll around for a while before I was fatally bruised by a bruiser.
I checked my reputation and noticed that my "Friendly" rating had dropped by a couple of points. Now, I cannot think for the life of me when and where my reputation dropped, but I can say while I was in Southshore and was about to hand in a quest, a horde suddenly appeared out of no where and killed my quest giver.
Is there a connection? Or just merely coincidence and maybe I did upset the little green guys and simply cannot recall when?

Very weird indeed.
Check your Rep and make sure that the "At War" checkbox is clear. This should stop the bruisers from bruising you.
As for what happened in Southshore.
I am at a loss to make a connection between your rep and aggro problems in Gadgetzan and a Horde player killing your quest NPC. Unless it is a bug OR you somehow managed to put yourself "At War" with the Goblins.
Clear "At War" if it is set and see what happens in Gadgetzan again.
If they still attack you then make a GM Ticket about this.

Thanks for the info -- I'll check that. However, since then, I have made peace with the little green guys by raising my rep to "Friendly". The whole thing is still very odd, though *scratches head*

You start as neutral with them, which is basicly also peace. Even below it, unfriendly, still doesn't make them at war with you as a default, they get a little orange and refuse to talk with you.
However, some factions can be put to 'at war', no matter what kind of reputation you have, and the Steamwheedle Cartel has that option. Maybe you healed someone who attacked a goblin?

Did you drop something in Gadget like a totem or a trap?

BTW, you can safely drop totems which affect friendlies, they only get upset when you drop ones with a direct effect upon hostiles.

I love to run around in between members of the opposing faction when they are dueling in neutral cities on the chance that one of their attacks hits me instead.

Nope, no totems or traps -- I'm a mage. Thanks for the contribution, tho.
