Ok, i have an "ok" 3v3 team going - we hang around 1300-1400 and I get about 500 points a week. I'm happy with it, but would like more.

5vs5 is by far the best way for points if you can get a good group, but I don't want to rely on my guild for this b/c most of them are PVE focused and don't realy care about pvp at all. How would you suggest I find and approch other good pvp players for a 5vs5 team?

In the WoW "heiarchy" of communication, there are certain do's and do not's when approaching people. In this circumstance, you're going to want your 5v5 team to be more "high-brow" than low brow. What this means is you do NOT want to go around spamming for members in any of the world chats in game. A post on your realm forums from the official WoW website is acceptable, as long as your post is worded very, very well. As in you have a definite strategy, you are looking for specific other people that fit such and such a mentality, that are going to be playing at a specific time, etc.

But the best way to find others will be to use your personal contacts in game. Needle your friends to see if any of them can think of someone they know that might want to join you. Say you're looking for a Paladin to join your group, ask around and see if your friends know someone, then ask them politely if they would be interested in joining yours.

To be honest it won't be easy if you aren't already in the pvp crowd to begin with. I do 2v2 and 3v3 with my brothers. But it has been very difficult to find solid people to do 5v5 with. Most of the people who are serious about arenas already have a 5v5 team by now.

Also you need to find people who are willing to spec for pvp and are working on BG's and such to get other pvp gear to supplement until you can get enough arena gear. Finding people who want to half ass it by having a hybrid pve and pvp spec just won't cut it. Thats because if you want to get above 1500-1600 you need to be all about pvp as the teams you will facing are specced for pvp.

Really? A 3v3 team at max 1400 points is only 310 points a week per person, unless you are saying that your team’s rank is 1400 out of all the teams in your battle group. But that will be still hard to get even close to 500 points. If you don’t believe me look at this…

i'm sorry, it was a long day - I have about 500 points after 2 weeks- actually, a little more- so it is about 250-300 points a week.
