Since Talisman of Arathor is a pvp trinket (arathi highlands) that can be bought I assumed this was the proper forum to ask this question, if not mod feel free to move it. My question is this. The description reads absorbs xx amount of dmg lasts 15 secs. How does this work. Does it mean that over 15 seconds it will absorb the stated dmg (say 300 physical dmg) or does it mean that it absorbs up to 300 dmg for each time the player is attacked for the 15 seconds. If it is the first the trinket seems rather lame since even a mediocore health potion would be more beneficial. If it is the second it seems way over powered. That's a lot of dmg being absorbed. So how does this trinket it work?

I hope, I am making sense here. Basically does it absorb dmg up till the number stated or for 15 seconds it negates all dmg upto 300? I am trying to debate if I should get this. Right now, I could use a boot upgrade which the pvp vendor sells. But in reading the description of this trinket I think that it might be more useful. Right now I have enough arathi marks of honor for one but not the other and have no desire to farm more - want to level.

It works just like PW: Shield. If someone hits you for 20 per second, it will holf for the whole duration - If they hit you for 100 per second it will hold three seconds.

That's what I thought. Question then, Why get it? It seems that a potion would be better or am I missing something?

300 extra life, as that's what it is, can make the difference between winning and loosing in PvP

Mainly because your opponents will have potions as well.

This trinket, however, will give you the extra edge that many twinks are willing to pay hundreds of golds for. Sure, the twinks will have both this and the Arena Grand Master trinket, but with it you'll be better than without it.

Also it's cheaper than potions.
