We've recently started running Karazhan a lot, and being the only one in the guild who knows the area well, I need some good mods that'll help.

What I'm using now is:

CT_Raid
DoTimer

What else would be useful, especially in Kara? I need a timing mod of sorts, preferably one that'll auto-say over chat when a boss is about to do something, like Maiden of Virtue's Repentance.

What else would be handy?

Bigwigs
maybe look for an alternative to ctraid.
Dunno what other people use I just use the AG_UF raid interface.

Ag's raid UI is probably the worst part of it.

oRa2 and SRaidFrames look like nice alternatives to CT, but I think this person's looking for additional mods, and not just replacements of current ones.

I was just saying thats what I use. AG_UF raid UI is more then enough for what I need it for. Maybe not the best but it saves me from having to get another addon. Hopefully Pitbull will have better. Any way try what he said.

I would suggest

Bigwigs Boss mods

KLH Threat Meter(everyone must have it to be effective).

I've found agUFs raid component to be far more customisable than sRaidFrames, and that means I can make the bars big enough that I can actually see them. Gone are the days of having to fit 40 bars on the screen and yet Sraidframes still insists of showing me teeny little bars that I can't properly judge damage amounts on.

Things I'm running as a guild officer for Karazhan:

ORA2 (ctra compatible general raid mod)
agUF (unit frames)
BigWigs (boss announcer)
Incubator (trash respawn timers)
XRS (raid status)
KTM (threat meter)
SW_Stats (damage meter)

If you prefer CTRA style unit frames then take SRaidFrames.

If you don't like having your screen space filled by raid frames, get grid. A full 40-man raid frames (scaled down slightly) is only a little bigger than my minimap, and my minimap is actually wider than it.

Edit: Here's a screenshot with a 25-man setup. (Under the minimap). The backgrounds of each bar display health vertically, and the middle text, border color, background color, and four corners can be setup to display a certain status or warning.

That may be fine for a hunter but it makes this healer cringe.

Thanks for all the responses.

For raid groups, I typically use XPerl's Raid addon. It looks decent, displays what I want it to, and is very customizable.

I'm definitely going to have to download BigWigs and Incubator. For the most part we don't care about damage done/healing done per person, but I have DamageMeters for cases like that.

I've seen some healers say that they prefer it. There are healer plugins for it as well.

Note that Incubator is still pretty early in production and has a few bugs at the moment. You may want to note down trash respawn times yourself in case it goes nuts (usually when it goes wrong it's just things like displaying more bars than you have it set to or growing the bars up instead of down, it doesn't explode in a flurry of error messages or anything like that). And update regularly to keep up with the fixes (every few days if possible).

Yup, and eCastingBar is a good Ace2 alternative to NaturEnemyCastBar, not that you really need a target cast bar since it's built into the default client now anyway.

eCastingBar is not ace2. eCastingbar is also just a replacement or alternative if you like to the standard castingbar.

NatureEnemyCastBar is not a replacement or altarnative to eCastingBar even if they both handle enemy spell casting timers NECB is so much more since it is also a alternative or compliment to Bigwigs and similar boss timers

Antagonist is Ace2, and is a useful cast bar - though the default interface handles most of it nicely now. Personally I use far too many mods, but in particular:

- As a healer, I'll second the recommendation of Grid - you don't have to have it scaled down to tiny size! It takes some getting used to, and some effort to configure it how you want, and some like it and some don't. But for me it gives me an awful lot of information in a very compact space.

- La Vendetta (now called Deadly Boss Mods) is an alternative to BigWigs. They sync between raid members, so best to get what the others in your raid use.
