View Full Version : The most annoying thing in PvP?

What do you guys view as the most annoying thing in pvp?
I have soo many hates when it comes to pvp...
One of my biggest one is in group pvp (Like AV used to be)
Hunters would just throw their pets on casters, and your faction would just sit there and watch you die, as you try and fend yourself.. lol
Then you don't even get the satisfaction of killing it, because the hunter just drops him before the death occurs.
What do you guys find annoying?

/spitters
especially when you had no hope of beating them and then they spit on you when you die.
Oh, and casters who try to kill my pet while it bites them.

Nah. I hate /spit, and such stuff like that, as it's gross, and downright low. But I have my own emote macro keybound for when I kill Hordies (/lol, /kiss). ^^
same, i love doing emotes
the spit macro is one of those, but only when I beat a ganking and wipe out those trying to do it. Like in AV my mage has like 3 people come at him and he manages to get some good crits with AoE and take them down. I would usually make some sort of rude gesture at the opposition. This is intended to taunt the opposition though and show them that I want them to try it again.
Usually its just /mourn though as a bit of a 'LOL' cause I won

Another thing I hate about PvP is in a Battleground, when you see in chat
"ZOMG LEARN TO HEAL "Enter random priest name here, but miss-spell it"
Reply from priest: "Once you play a priest then you can talk"

What do I hate? People who run away. But I'm not going to complain much since a person who does that when he is outmatched is SMART. I give him that. If he is stupid enough to stick around and fight, I kill him. If he runs, I hate him AND respect him for having a brain.
And I hate paladins most. Bastard have two lives.

There is only one thing I hate about PvP. The high level drive by killers. I can handle /spit, the frenetic energy of PvP, everything. But when a Level 70 rides past, dismounts and kills a level 10 that just TICKS me off to no end.
Yes, it's part of the game, but it always seem so pointless. Makes me want to go into the Dwarven starting area and begin clubbing Gnome babies or something.

Paladins how try to jump you and are +3 lvls and have to Bubble/LoH/Pot to beat you...and your only an 18 druid
Mages...nothin like getting novad, than 2k frostbolt crit, 1300 cone of cold crit, 1100 fireblast crit...gg

People who try to gank me (and do something very low, like try it while I'm obviously AFK), get killed without bringing me down too low in health, then bring a 70 to save them.
Edit: Oh, and then taunt me with emotes as if they accomplished something.
Note: There's a benefit to the option "sound in background." I can hear when I get attacked while AFK, and I'm usually able to come back and win the fight.

I've basically defected over to Horde, thankfully on a PvE server... I always used to think the Horde were bad but the unending slaughter of quest givers and other NPCs at the Crossroads is ridiculous, along with the l33t raids on Bloodhoof Village. Nothing I love more than trying to get my girlfriend into the game and come back to find the village slaughtered and 4+ level ?? Alliance doing /chicken at us. What the hell is point? On my main I'd only ever attack people that were green or better to me... and if I win I'll be on my way with no emotes.
I still have a special level of hatred in my heart for Blood Elves, but I think my alliance (pun intended) is now towards the Horde :azn:

When I was playing my Warrior I used to hate being caught out by a Frost Mage. Nothing worse than having repeated frost bolts on the noggin when your only range attack is a shot gun. Hence now why my main is a Frost Mage. I had a Warrior good the other day, 4 frost bolts in the head, sat down and let my Water elemental finnish him of. Rubbed it in by blowing a kiss at his twitching corpse.

yeah /spitters are the lowest. I chalk them up as psychos in my mind
I also hate those who emote in PvP in general after killing you. Although /lol is ok especially it was a fair fight
In world pvp (on a pve server) I seriously don't understand it when several alliance surround you, all pvp-enabled, and start /chicken at you. Shame I can't /stupid back at them :hanky:

Got the problem with a Drawf re-roll. I baited him :) /rude enough times, moving slowly but regularly to the Dwarf village outside IF.
Guy didn't have a clue when 3 guards clubbed him to death... /loled afterwards - he had it coming bothering people around.
What's the point with gloating over a victory anyway? Much better to /salute if you have the time. Dirty tricks is for battle only, once it's done, it won't cost you returning to civilized behavior.

Hate does not mean disrespect. I can hate my enemy. I will do just about everything in my power to destroy them. That does not mean I do not respect them.
The lack of respect generally means you also will under estimate them.

Right, you can hate your enemy. You can find it annoying to have to chase somebody who is smart enough to run from their anti-class (and hate that you have to chase them). But I don't see how it makes sense to say you hate somebody for running but give them respect for it. Like I said, I think its just a different definition of hate. Maybe I'm thinking of the "hate the game, not the playa" saying. You hate that he's running away, you don't hate -him- for running away.
To add something, I hate it when an opposing faction member fears you, dots you until you die, then /spits and dances, then gets on their same faction alt and has the nerve to apologize for their actions.

I hate honor farmers in BGs and I hate corpse campers. It doesn't bother me that much when A ?? kills me, it only annoys me when he decides to camp.
How bored to you have to be to just sit and wait for someone to spawn just so you can kill them again? On the other hand corpse campers are one of the reasons I have so many alts.

i have a little lvl 25 pink haired female Gnome on one account and, A well geared lvl 70 shadow Preist on the other.. one PC running one, Another pc running the other, screens next to each other well sort of (have to turn a little)... I'm on a PVE server.. So anyway on the road in ashenvale just outside the horde base i build a little camp fire and a sit my little cute gnome rogue down next to it... and Hide behind a tree or in one of numerous other spots... i love it.... first they run past and stop think about it for a little, then go back AND BAM!!! Face MELT!!!!..... so anyway when they rez i let them scutter off.. but if they touch my little girl... the hunt begins. Fantastic fun... ranging from 70 down to Single Shadow word death kills... and groups are fun should see them scatter... safe behind the guards they rekon LOL.

The two things I dislike in pvp are (1) Pallies in arena (2) People in AB that won't friggin' defend! Yes, they will come to you @ a node, you dont' have to go to them . . .
I dislike when someone ganks me, and I own them like wtf.... and they come back with 2 people and i own both of them like wtf... and they come back with like 5..... and /lol at me...
im like ... are you serious??? Theres no way... how can you seriously laugh at someone who just wtf powned you just because you and an army was able to finally take that person down??? SERIOUSLY?????????
And another hting I hate is when you duel someone, and they beat you, and they wont duel again... they are like no i beat you im better than you and leave... like omg! Dont offer me a duel if your not willing to give me a rematch if I lose!!!
Anytime I win a duel, I am always willing to re-duel! (And yes i know its normally because of 10+ min cool downs)

If you die too far up in the air or in an area unaccessible by foot (as opposed to flying mount) you cannot rez naturally, because you cannot reach your body. Even though you might be at its spot on the map, it will be too far above you to reach to res.

I got slapped around by a warrior several levs higher than me on the flats the other night, he got me three times before i managed to get away by aspect of cheetahing down the race track.
Then i summoned me pet, turned on me tracking and went back.
Of course i waited until he was engaging a couple of mobs before barraging him with arrows. I ganked him back three times like this to see how he liked it. On the third time he never came back.

For me lately, it's players that will gang up on a player several levels or more lower than then.
Was in Zangarmarsh the other day on my warrior alt (62 at the time) and trying to get a few quests done. The next thing I know I'm being killed by 3 level 70 horde players as I try to get to a little mountain cave. I managed to get in a /flex and /clap before I died and ran back to my corpse, to be immediately killed upon rezzing.
The next time I ran back, I see all 3 get on their mounts and fly to the top of a mushroom, watching my corpse and waiting to gank me again. I had to laugh, since they certainly weren't in epic gear and surely had better things to do than waste 20 minutes ganking me. I hung around for about 5 minutes and they got bored and started to duel, and I got an idea.
Waited until I saw "Hordetard #1 has defeated Hordetard #2 in a duel," rezzed, and one-shotted the loser (who was around 1% health). Of course they killed me, but I did get 25 honor points and came back to see them dueling again, waited until one lost, and then did the same thing.
I don't pick on players that are 5 levels or lower than me - I like a fair fight (even starting to not mind getting hit while fighting mobs as long as it's by a fair level, just makes me feel better when I am able to get out of it).
Found this awhile back...

For others: when my ret pally outpaces the hunters in damage done and honourable kills ^^

I don't think you can put the words "fair" and "fight" together. Imo there is no such thing. Does that mean I will hang out and camp someone 10 levels below me? No thats lame and boring but if I happen upon one, chances are I'll slap 'em around a bit. And do it with other high level guys? No chance, I am conscience of time management and I don't get it when people do this or hang out in capital cities showing off their fantastic gear!

I don't agree, as a hunter, running is part of it. If I am going to die than I run and hide and try to come back when they are no longer aware of me. There are no rules of engagement, no ganking, no camping. When on a PvP realm you should always be prepared. I fully expect to get attacked right in the middle of a quest, or opening a chest or whatever. And if I can run to live a little while longer I will.

I’m with cald on this one. You haven’t beaten me until my corpse is lying there on the ground.
If I’m fighting a Warlock/Shaman, I haven’t beaten him until he “resurrected” and got killed again (if he resurrects while I’m still in the area. I usually bandage up and leave).
It is frustrating if you lose your prey, but it’s also part of the fun. Next time ensure that you have a cooldown ready for when your opponent runs.

Agreed. As a druid, there is nothing more annoying and frustrating than fear, in any form, from any source, for any duration, at any time.
I'd rather be stunned for 5+ seconds by a single ability. At least that doesn't have a "random" duration that always ends up being the maximum possible whenever it's cast on me, and doesn't always make me run in the exact opposite direction where I want to go.

Multi-ganks / corpse camping by higher level players. When a swarm of L45s jump my L30 while he's trying to fight a mob, it's beyond dumb. When they then sit right next to my corpse and wait for me to respawn / soulstone so they can multikill me, I'm speechless. Hello, life much? Then they start /spitting /laughing, etc. and it just feels like I'm exposing myself to the dregs of humanity. Is this how we get our entertainment? I'm embarassed to explain that kind of crap to anybody IRL that isn't video game savvy. Their immediate response is "why would you play a game like that"?

I hate people that get in a losing BG and declare (often) that everyone else in the battleground sucks. What is worse than that is when a self righteous 15 year old is shouting orders to the group that are counter good strategy.
I read some of the other posts and I am guilty, guilty, guilty. I am a spitter. I spit on everyone. It cracks me up how personal some one can take the words Bloodgoat spits on you when they pop up on the screen. I figure getting over something like that is a great lesson in growing up. (If I have spat on you, your welcome ;) I am also a ganker of lowbies, but I usually only do that after someone has needlessly jacked with me. If I have 3 ally attack and then camp me for 10 or 15 minutes, I often spend the next 2 hours roving around killing every ally that I see.
