Joining The Game! YAY ^.^

Hi everyone!!

After much thought and research into games I have decide to play WoW!
I orderd the game & Guide for £15.00 which is a Good price with postage included!
I'm looking for the expansion too so YAY hehe,
I'm looking forward to meeting lots of people!
Hoping to find a nice low-lvl accepting guild and a decent server with friendly ppl for advice!
I wanna be a Mage I know that not sure what kinda of Mage I just wanna be Magic Type! So what do you all reccomend?
I wanna be Human or Draiel(soz if I spelt that wrong) Or a Blood Elf!
What type of mages are there in game?
And which ones are wanted in groups?

lol...

Mages are good Damage dealing classes, more-so if you choose to be a fire mage.

Alliance races that can be mages: Gnomes, Humans, Draeni(sp)
Horde Races that can be mages: Troll, undead, bloodelf

each have their ups and downs.. human have the least mage like racial ability, well they can regenerate mana faster.. i think.

but i would choose either dreani, bloodelf, troll, undead or gnome.. if you dont have expansion.. then you are stuck with a legacy race (not dreani or bloodelf)

mages specialized into 3 trees... fire, frost, arcane.. they all do decent damage.

I am gonna order the Expansion just decided to play tonight so had to order basic game first!
And it won't be end of life hehe I played FFXI and I still made time to make sure I went out every weekend.... and most week nights with my Bf lol

For mage, try Blood Elf, they have crazy mana restoration spells.
Sorry i can't be much help with spec info, I never got much farther than 35 myself.... :(

Nothing wrong with humans, Diplomacy is great :)

humans are good starting charcters, i feel they have the best selection of quests you can do, and gear does look better on a human. :P

you're probably on a EU server... so i cant help you with server selection.. :x

Gnomes get a bonus to intellect, like a 5% increase in intel (mages best friend).

And let's not forget the best part of being a mage: Polymorph spell.

Nothing more fun then turning other humanoids into sheep or pigs. :)

Do you want to do Player vs Player combat? If not, come join Ghostlands server (assuming you're British) which is PvE. I've now defected to Horde but there seems to be a fair amount of decent Alliance guilds (avoid Dark Argonauts Clan is my only advice as to which!).

For a good EU server try Bronzebeard for PVE or Balnazarr (SP) for PVP.

If you went to Bronzebeard (PVE) and rolled a Horde toon you could join my guild. Both are good servers with a medium population.
There are plenty of guilds for low levels that would gladly take you in keep you company.:smiley:

Hi Meiou & welcome! Jump on Boulderfist (EU server) for a bit of PvP hilarity, I'm British & have a lovely, cuddly bear called Huggy who would love to help you learn the ropes!

Have you thought about a Warlock? They are very good (mostly) & you get a pet/minion to help you out & you can be human too.

Humans have perception to allow them to see stealthed rogues. Not the best racial in the game but It has served me well.

Be a belf paladin. You wont get killed........much !! Yeah, go for a belf. I think they can be Mages/locks, or at least one of them.
