It's very easy to inspect a group member's gear. Is there any way to disable this?

I suggest not clicking it if you don't like seeing what ppl are wearing.

Yeah I cant access the link either - bloody work-safe software filtering gimpy swines.

Anyway, most of the time its kind of obvious if someone is inspecting you. I just run off a short distance. The fun part is if they dont realise why you did that, and follow you lol.

Oh really? How can you tell? Nothing appears in the chat box informing me of this, I'm intrigued. What the secret? :)

when you see someone run up to you...and youre at a vendor...when you leave they follow you to the mailbox, they kneel....try to look up your robes...you glance at them and they lay down and pretend they are taking a nap...then you start to run away, and they magically wake up and follow you to the AH, and then you turn to look at them, and they eat a sagefish delight to disguise themself

Enable targets target in Interface and you see that another player inspects you (obviously you need to click him, but if it a stranger and you see he has you targeted..well..kinda obvious, no?)

Sorry don't understand by what you mean by "back-to-back" posts. Many of my comments have been in response to other peoples comments -- just like this one.

Cheers

I was wondering this too - I inspected a guy in Ratchet who at lvl 70 looked as though he had on the Defias set - so I looked - what I saw was basically what that second picture shows from the tinfoil hat joke - it really was a bunch of red question marks . . . anyone know what's up with that?

...even if you avoided and kept running from people so they couldn't inspect you- there's always the Armory.

So change into your twill set before you log out each time..

Why do people care if others inspect you? It's not like a hand comes through your monitor and feels you up. You can't really stop it anyways, if I want to inspect you and you run, well, I can run just as fast.

Some twink weenies don't like it as it reveals their S00per sekrit gear choices. It makes them nervous. Tinfoil hats ahoy, as previously mentioned.

Not to mention the fact that I've seen an addon that replaces the inspect window with one that doesn't go away if the person moves out of distance.

Their work and time invested covers getting the gear, but not keeping it secret. Is anyone going to be shocked to see the same enchants on all the level 19 twink rogues?

Probably not, but I'd be willing to bet there are a good number of twinks who like to move out of distance and see the player come closer to inspect. Sortof a status thing if everyone wants to know what you're wearing.

Why bother? Seriously, does it hurt you in any way that someone sees what you are equipped with? Then again, they could use the Armory, and find out that information too. So, once again, why bother? I really could care less what someone does or doesn't know about my gear.

I agree. I've actually gotten some nice gear tips from people who inspected my toons. Particularly for my mage.

lol, the other day I must have clicked on somebody, not sure why, but I was in town, they followed me around for 5 minutes saying "do I look good" over and over... it took me a minute to realize what they were talking about... Must be a low self esteem player...
