Anyone play the card game?

I didnt even know there was a card game until last night. My friend was bored last week and said he bought the card game. He said it was a lot of fun and came by last night and he even bought me a starter deck. I was a little apprehensive but the card games turns out to be a ton of fun. Im a rogue :P

Never played it and don't intend to. Those card games end up being a major money drain. Not to say they aren't fun, I got heavily into the Star Wars card game in high school. I learned my lesson after I realised I was wasting all of my minimum wage paychecks buying booster packs trying to get some rare darth vader card.

I don't play the game, but I sometimes buy some booster packs...I collect them =p

I play it very casually, since only one of my friends plays it, and he doesn't ven play the mmorpg version ;)

It's basically a rip off from MtG, but still plays quite well.

After collecting M:TG for nearly four years, I love the idea but can see the massive drain that this will be on my finances - especially as I become obsessive about my collections. So no. Lovely idea, but not for me :grin:

There are a few cards that are reedimable for in-game items. Three iirc.

One is a picnic umbrella and a grill that players can use to get some useless food item.

Another is some crazy looking shoulder.

Another is a ride-able turtle. no level requriement.

Kind of cool IMo.

There are 3 cards that give you items in game in each expansion, so 6 so far :)

I'm sorta interested in the card game, but since it hasn't gained enough popularity yet to have comic shops hold weekly (or even bi-weekly) games, I don't see much of a reason to get into it at this time. The artwork on the cards is quite beautiful though!

Heh. I played MtG for nearly a decade. I won't spend that kind of money again. I still have a few thousand cards stored in boxes.
