If I want to make a 2nd account and start Dran. on it - do I have to buy a copy of warcraft and BC for the 2nd accout, or can I just add a 2nd account using my current "cd keys"?

New copy of both, I'm pretty sure. I'm 100% sure that a 2nd BC is required, at leasr.

Open your original World of Warcraft box. (or your Burnnig Crusade Box)

Take out one of the "free trail for a friend" CD Key cards. Use it to open a new trial account.

After it works, use the account management screen to upgrade it to a full working account for $20.

Then after that works, use the account management screen to upgrade the new account to a burning crusade account.

You can use the CDs from your original World of Warcraft and WoW:Burning Crusade copies to install the game on the 2nd computer.

This is exactly what I did. (note: credit card required for this method, if you don't have a credit card, go to nearest store and buy new copies of each)

Are you sure you mean "second account" and not "second character"? You can start a new character on any realm at all.

The reasons to have a 2nd account are:-

you have more characters than the limit (8 or 10 - not sure),
you want to 2 box, or
you want to have mules, characters that have all your stuff and when you want it you can just do an ingame trade transfer rather than wait an hour for the mail.

Or you want to do something (sell/buy gold, spam/post obscenities) and not have it effect your real account.

Any others?

Nitsujcm,

Totally off-topic, but my brain always turns your account name into "Ninjascum". I can't help visualising a foiled evil genius saying "damn those ninja scum!" in the heart of his underground lair.

Ok, so I ran out of chocolate, things are a little strange today.

Yea, I mean 2nd account. 2nd computer in house. See my thread "My wife and warcraft- did I just win?" - it's for her. And I have all 10 slots on my server filled along with a couple on ohter servers. And I will probably start an alt on her's to dual box. And I need a 2nd account to foil evil geniuses.

I have two accounts in my house (mine, and one for my son)...Start the second how was suggested above.

Make sure to make the last names the same on the account owner screen, or you may not be allowed to transfer toons to the second account...

As for what someone said above...the character limit PER ACCOUNT is around 50...and is 8 or 10 per server.

10 per server, didn't realize there was a max total number you could have... learn something everyday.

You actually don't even need to use the Trial account. I created 2 accounts for my kids without any problem. Just installed the game and then went to the website and created 2 new accounts.

No second CD key? Or, did you buy the second one while online?

Well technically, once you use a CD Key, it goes away. You never seen it again.

It "becomes" your user login ID.
