From what I've seen I believe any of your high dps classes are gonig to level the fastest... I've heard from several people that hunters are easy mode, but it is difficult to be a good hunter in group play...
hunters are by far and I MEAN FARRRRR the best and easy class to lvl fast

The problem is that once you get to 70 - who wants you? A very different set of playing skills and mindset is required by a 70 hunter in group play - for a start few groups would want your pet in an instance. Dont' get me wrong a skilled player is a skilled player, and you would want someone who is known to be good at their class. Whereas a Mage may be difficult to level at low levels but just gets faster and faster (I remember seeing a level 50 or so mage aggro a whole murloc village and take it out with AOE in seconds - whilst as a Warlock I plodded along taking two or three at a time) and then they are able to portal everywhere saving hours of flying time! And a mage is 1st choice ranged DPS in a group, whereas hunter is a distant last.
Also leveling can be done quickly by any class by smart questing - hunters can grind better than most, but any class can quest - there is a free questing guide on the net (Jame's Horde leveling guide), which isn't bad - although now at level 58 - just go through the dark portal and rake in the experience points. I have just done 58 to 61 in the past few days - like shooting fish in a barrel - or should I say hellboars  .

"The class you suck with the least"
That is it in a nutshell. While there will be subtle differences like some people have indicated here and while some will be marginally faster it all evens out towards end-game. My personal recommendation would be to pick the class you want to be, what would suit your playing style the best and level with that.
Or maybe I just don't get the point of playing something you don't like and thus won't be good with to level 70, just to get there fast.

Why, exactly, do you need to get to 70 FAST? If you're new, I would suggest that you try a couple different classes, and be sure to enjoy the amazing world that the folks at Blizzard created for our enjoyment. I mean, what's the point of getting to 70 if you didn't see, do, or learn anything on the way?

Warlock should also be considered. A high level warlock if played correctly has practically no downtime.

Warlocks will level a bit faster than a hunter, if the player is skilled. For a new player, a hunter would be much better. Just send in pet and shoot. With a warlock, you need to manage agro, curses, fear, mana, etc.
For end game, the downside is hunters are a little less desired for raids, although not completely useless. Ice traps and pet off tanks are beneficial to groups. Hunters get a bad rap when they just shoot and don't use their crowd control abilities. Hunters are also decent in PvP (especially when you use all your skills and kite).
There are other classes to consider, but I would put hunter at the top for leveling speed and simplicity to play. Once you get your hunter to 70, you can delve into the more intricate classes.

"The class you suck with the least"
Damnit, you beat me to it!
Although, the more I play, the truer that statement gets.
But in turn I have noticed that some of them are just dreadfully slow to level. For me anyways. IE. I go on my mage and it seems like it takes FOREVER to get anywhere (33) but I go on my rogue (30) and its signigicantly faster, for me anyways. On my mage I would get about 2-4 kills before I would have to stop to drink. Its still fun, but in a different way. Where as my 70 Druid was a lot of fun leveling, pretty fast too. It was my first one, so I was learning the game, but now it seems to flow pretty smoothly...

And judging by your postcount and the links posted, this is most likely a scam too.. if not, it's at least a big blatant shiny advertisment..
However to the original question, locks and hunters are very fast, however, why do you want to level up so fast? There is more to the game than just going 1-70 as quick as possible. Slow down and enjoy the content. Blizz have worked really hard on all of the content there is, skipping it out is wasteful. I grinded like mad through 50-70, and I regret missing all of the content out I could've played.
it IS the class you suck the least with at leveling up fast.
and this is the only universal truth about leveling fast :)

i would have said hunter for such a long time, as i leveled my hunter to 61 in 8 days /played im at 62 with 10 days played...i did a bunch of other stuff wasting a lot of time...now im beginning to think a priest actually levels much faster than other classes especially at low levels... i leveled to 12 in no time at all, and never have to stop killing things...no downtime is much better than having to watch aggro management on my lock or hunter, and hunter has to stop to drink sometimes, and runs out of ammo eventally...the lock id have to drink once every 40 kills or so as id finally run outta mana...mage it was pretty much every 4 or 5 kills, priest is never, rogue id have to eat after about 30 kills....pallys were quick in lower levels, but once i started leveling her higher, it slowed down, as they are really gear dependant.
id probably rank it as
warlock/hunter/priest tied for number 1 until 40.
mage probably number 1 for AoE grinding ability around 37+
rogue for 40+ solo grinding
after 40, rogue takes the cake, then the trifecta, then mages if you single pull grind as opposed to AoE grind.
10 kills with a mage all at once gives a much higher xp/hr rate than any other class...i can easily pull 70k xp an hour with my mage, and all other classes mentioned i can pull around 35-40k an hour.
bad pulls with a mage however, and my 70k an hour drops a lot...it all depends how well im playing that day.
and i would agree with KCMA's rule of thumb...the class youll level fastest with is the one you suck least with

I still cannot fathom why MM-Hunters are not in demand for instances/raiding --- even if the pet is on passive and does nothing but bodyguard for the Hunter, MM is just - awesome...having a ranged attacker that can do that much damage to that many mobs with all the tips/tricks/add ons included, damn..

From what I've seen, even the level 70 mages who have helped out in farming some lower level areas (pirates grove) have to keep stopping and drinking constantly, while my 1/2 their level warlock kept fighting on and on. Yes, the mage killed more at once; but if she got swarmed and off guard, almost killed. I never once lost more than 25% of my health.
Not saying mages aren't master blasters. They are.
But every experience with mages i have is that they have those things that would annoy me playing one:
* stopping to drink after every fight almost.
* getting killed if mobs got into melee range or suprised them - and having no option but freezin in place or blinking.
And priests soloing?
I know Shadow Priests are legendary at high levels - few can defeat them from what I've heard...but at low levels, those I've seen are too busy getting killed to have much luck levelling

mainly cos way more ppl have grouped with crap hunters than good ones... thus, ppl usually dont want a hunter, or only will ask for one they already know is skilled

Well having levelled what is widely thought of as being the fastest to level ( A hunter) to level 70, I would have said Hunter but I have now taken a Shaman from 0-40 in 3 days 2hrs played time.
So I would now go for the Shaman. I expect to hit 60 in around 5 days played and going by my experience in Outland with my Hunter another 3 days to get from 60-70.
So I reckon you can solo play a Shaman from 0-70 in around 8 days. Obviously a new player will not be able to do this as the experience of having levelled previous characters results in you being able to gather and combine quests for optimum levelling.

I agree with Aerath. A feral druid can level very fast with no downtime what so ever. They level much faster than warriors do.
I would rank them something like this:
1 Hunter/Mage (mage is sorta a pain at first but once you can AOE its fast)
2 Warlock/shadow priest (both a little slow at first but the more they level the faster they grind)
3 rogue/druid (druid is slow till you get catform)
4 shaman
5 warrior
6 palladin (there ok for awhile but later game they just slow down too much)
1.5 was so... long ago :p

Well I think that the one you have fun with will get you there. I have tried them all and have 3 30's that I just gave up on because I didn't like the play style.
My Warlock in outlands, I don't remember the last time I had to eat or drink. Druids to me are fun, Rogues are fun..Mages are frustrating to me, fire is most damage, cold is safe and slow.... Hunter is boring....never tried a priest, I just felt that you would have to put up with every A hole in the game to get in a group so why bother.
I only have one high level the rest are 20-50...the 2 I liked the least were mage and hunter..BUT one thing I think of most is there professions, hunter was mining and engineering...and maybe it was because engineering sucks sooooo much that I didn't like the hunter.
I really think just get what is fun and your play style....hit um or spell um whatever you like, you will go the furthest and fastest with.

A question for you. Have you actually played a Shaman?
I have levelled a Hunter to 70, Mage to 46, Rogue to 38, Warlock to 36 and am playing my 40 Shaman at the moment and the Shaman is by far the fastest to level out of these 5 classes.
