First off, i love PVP, and its what i want to spend my time doing, however i realize that if i dont do PVE, i wont get good gear to be able to get good gear in PVP.
What im wondering is what kind of stuff can i get from PVP?
can i get mounts so i dont have to grind for so much gold, or gear comparable to what raiders get?
really, it would be ideal if i never had to do more than a five man instance, but yeah, probably gonna have to if i wanna be able to compete.
Problem is i have a very limited play time and i cant seem to get myself to just walk away from the Battlemaster. My honor is around 7000 at level 38 from WSG and AB.

PS (my main concern is the mount)

PvE Gear is more designed for outlasting and long fights.
PvP Gear is more designed for hard hits and short fights.

You can get all sorts of gear by doing PvP, you will need to get honor and battleground marks of honor for puchasing these. Unless you are focusing on Arena, then you need wins (I think, not quite sure).

You can get a PvP mount, requires 30 marks from each battleground. Besides the marks, you still need the riding skill for epic ground mount. But I think you got that one, since you are level 70.

If you don't got time for doing PvE, you could do PvP instead. A normal 10 or 25 man instance could take up to 5 hours to finish - or you normally raid 5-6 hours. With PvP the honor and marks are saved, and you can always build up more points. The more you play, the faster you will get gear.

It depends on how much time you have. My recommendation would be to grind to 65+ as fast as you can, then you can switch to pvp. You will get some nice blues from outland quests. At 70, you can get some decent gear from faction reputation as well as epics from professions.

As far as a mount, it would be faster to farm for gold for a mount then it would be to pvp for a mount. You can get 80 gold for a lvl 40 mount in a matter of hours with mining/skinning. When you get to outlands, money comes in so fast from quests and gear drops that you will have 630 gold for your epic within a few levels. Same for PvP gear - the honor requirements are insane for gear that isn't that great. Not work the time investment. Professions give better gear, not to mention heroic instances/raids.

5 hours per of pure Play?
Not possible for me
Maybe a 5 man heroic, does that take about as much time as say SM or Ulda>?
But thanks for the response, even its not what i wanted to hear (the truth hurts)

Oh well time to grind to 58!!!

Kravven, it depends on what you are looking for. PvP gear is best for... well... PVP.

If you get a decent arena partner and can practice enough, you will be set at 70. You can earn quite good epic boots/belt/bracers/neck/cape from BG's and legs/chest/shoulders/gloves/helm from arena. Get the PvP trinket and another good one from a 5 man or the other PvP one and an epic ring from rep and you are geared quite well for PvP indeed. Fill in with the appropriate enchants and gems over time and you are golden.

Honestly without a lot of play time, this is going to take a while, but it is all still quite possible solo and with your arena team/partner. My main focus with my 70 feral druid is PvP and I love it. I'm going to start raiding a bit now too, but that's just because I want to experience the content and if I happen across some nice gear, wonderful! Even the blue PvP gear is quite good because of stat distribution - better for some classes than others.

If PvP is what you like, concentrate on leveling to 70 and the rewards from pvp are worth it. The nice thing about PvP is you can work at it at your own pace.

Also, to directly answer your question, with the arena gear, Blizzard is attempting to keep PvP gear on par with raiding gear.

Of course, the faster you can get the best gear (raiding, pvping, rep, heroics, crafting) the faster you will be geared and the more effective all of your experience will be in pvp. Don't give up though.

edit: I forgot all about your weapon and ranged slot! You can get those from arena too!
