What exactly is honour and how do I go about getting it? I've heard it mentioned that I'll get somethings cheaper if I have honour with my faction (by faction I take it to mean The Horde?)
Thanks.

Honor is what you gain in PvP; With honor and tokens you can buy PvP items from special vendors.
Reputation is what you gain in PvE and will allow you to buy items cheaper from that faction.

Honour is what you get for defeating your foes in combat. (Killing Alliance) You also get Honour in Battlegrounds, by killing Faction leaders and so on. You can then spend Honour for rewards - read up about it here (http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/pvp/honorguide.html).
You can get items cheaper from a specific Faction (Horde, Ogrimmar, Darkspear Trolls, Silvermoon City, Undercity, etc.) once you've reached I think Honoured reputation with them. Check the Reputation tab on yoru character sheet. You can learn more about Rep (http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/basics/reputation.html) here.

He might also be thinking of ye old Sergeant rank, which you attained through getting enough honour. Said rank also meant another 10% off of the price, but all of this stuff has been taken out of the game couple of patches ago. Some folks still have their ranks, but it's become completely meaningless really.
