In the PvP servers where are the "safe spots" where a player can not be attacked by another player?

The only "safe" spots in PvP realms are areas of you're factions side. If you are Horde, then you will be safe in Horde Territory and cannot be attacked unless you attack first. If you are Alliance, then you will be safe in Alliance Territory and cannot be attacked unless you attack first.
There technically is no safe points, because most of the World is all contested(meaning anyone can attack anyone).

That doesn't make any sense. How am I supposed to attack someone if they can't attack me because I haven't attacked them?

You become the agressor then, which flags you for PvP. So, either start an auto-attack sequence (Right click your target) or cast a spell at them. That should start the attack sequence.

Horde are auto flagged in Alliance zones on a PvP server. Similarly, Alliance are auto flagged in Horde Territory.

Most of the middle and higher level zones (20+) are contested though, meaning everyone is flagged for PvP.

but if you stand in neutral areas booty bay and gadgetzan then your normal ysafe as if you are attacvked the agressor will pull all the gaurds and end up dead

I guess what I'm asking is that when I start out on the Alliance on PvP server what areas will I be safe to get my exp up without another player attacking me. I'm choosing Human. So will I be safe in Northshire, Goldshire, or Stormwind?

PvP = safe nowhere, in theory.
You could be outside the bank in SW/Org etc & still be attacked. It is known for the opposite faction to go to starting zones such as Northshire, Thunderbluff & the others just to please themselves in some sick self gratification pleasuredome experience.
Although when I started my new Human Lock the other day it was pleasing to see a Tauren ?? kill a Gold seller outside the Abbey!!! I wonder if he knew what he was doing :ponder: before he was sent to the abbatoir?
That said, it is generally safer in those zones :)

Horde wasn't what I was talking about. I meant another Alliance member attacking me.

Youo can't be attacked ever by your own faction unless in the arena or in a duel

Confused. You mean what Stigg said then? Duels/Arenas? No Alliance player can attack another Alliance player apart from where Stigg stipulated (gota be a song there Stigg!), although I wish I could sometimes :)

Haha, if I started singing your house would probably start shaking Stigg & youre fiancee (sp) might get a bit annoyed to find she doesnt have a home to go to soon! Just blame me man.
Anyway, Ive a rather deep voice thats best kept quiet where possible.
Back to OP: Have we answered your question?

That sounds like PvE server. I'm confused myself. Now I can't tell the difference between PvP and PvE.

What Server Type are you playing on? The differences are explained quite well here (http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/basics/realmtypes.html#PvP).

Nevermind. Now I understand thanks to Tanitha. I'm on a PvE realm. I just wanted to know if I were to join PvP server if my own faction members could attack me. But even though they can't, I'll stick with PvE still. Now perhaps you guys could help me with a different question. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to provide a link or not but there was this one WoW fan-made video, actually there was 2 parts based off the show Cops, called Guards. If you know what I'm talking about, do you know what kind of armor they are wearing?

I'm a PvE server type person. I like to be able to choose when to be attacking them or when they attack me, call me a sissy, but that's how I roll.... yo.

Same here. Plus I enjoy fishing and I'd hate having someone attacking me while I was trying to have some peace.

You are safe in any neutral town. *

And if someone is farming rep by killing the booty bay guards?
Really there's only 2 places where you're perfectly safe from players:
The Dark Portal and Shattrath City.
In cities controlled by your faction, or starting zones (such as Elwynn Forest and Westfall) you can still be lured to turn on PvP (Target Dummies usually works) which will probably lead to a very swift death, and contested/enemy territory.. well..
You'll still be safer than if standing in 1 of the non-instanced arenas.

have you ever seen people farm booty bay rep by killing guards? youve got to be kidding. If that ever happened, they would most likely have their hands full with the guards and their nets.

You do so if you want to gain rep with the Bloodsail Buccaneers. And yes, some people do that for laughs. You need to be Friendly (?) with them to get the Pirate Hat quest from Fleet Master Firallon. Of course, that means you'll be unfriendly with Booty Bay and all the rest of the Steamwheedle Cartel.

Yes they were busy.
I wasn't.
