Im a level 13 gnome rogue, and im currently deciding between the Westlands & the Loch, ive done a few quests in each. However if i want to go further in each area, i notice the enemies are in the high teens, or even level 20. So is it basically grinding to level 17 or so, or are there any places where i can do some low level quests to get some easier XP. Basically ive done all off Dun Morogh (practically), some of the earlier stuff in Loch Modan (i cant really go looking for Bigles treasure, cos im not strong enough)...ive ventured into Goldshire...is this the easiest place for me to do some quests at my level?
Ive basically grinded from level 10 to 13 by killing (to make money by skinning/leatherwork) and i dont feel like it for a while.
Also is it possible for me to go to Northshire and do some quests there? not sure whats available there, because at the moment the Loch & Westlands are a bit out of my range.
Also are there any quests in Stormwind? its such a huge city, that i couldnt find much there. its just so confusing, i get lost in there easily lol *missing ironforge*
Sorry if i sound like such a n00b, its just past my first week of playing this

You could try going through Elwynn Forest and into Westfall, there's some nice 10-20 quests there.

Level 13 alliance areas:
Loch Modan
Westfall (follow the road west from Goldshire)
Darkshore (sail from Menethil Harbor)
Bloodmyst Isle (TBC only, take the funny looking boat from.. erh.. what's the town in Darkshore called?.. well anyway, once you get there head due north)
Personally I prefere Westfall as there's not a whole lot of obstacles for enemies to hide behind and lots of light.

cool thanks for the advice, i will check all those places out. Was getting a bit tired of grinding. I just want to get to the late teens, so i can enjoy more of the level 10 - 20 quests, without getting killed all the time.
Another question, how do i know if a weapon i pick up (from a dead enemy), if i am profiecent for it. Usually the only way for me to find out is to equip it & check, and thats a bit risky. Any other ways?

Hover your mouse over it.
Around the top of the window it'll say what type of item it is (such as "Two hand - - Sword"), if you can't wield 2-handed swords 1 of the 2 things will be in red.
Just below the durability it'll then often say "Requires level ##", again in red if you're lower than that level.
And on rare occasions, just below the level requirement, it'll say "Requires <faction> - Honored" (or Revered, or Exalted), or possibly "Requires <profession> ###", meaning that you need lvl ### in a craft to equip it (Engineering being the one you should pay the most attention to). Again the text will be red if you haven't got what it takes.

thats strange, because normally i do have the level, but it still doesnt let me. I assume with stuff like guns or bows i need training or something.
however with some swords i am the level ... hmm is there some sort of trainer i need to use to upgrade my swordmanship or something?

go to the weapon trainers in as many capital cities you can get to (IF and SW usually). The guards can help you find them. They will train you in various weapon skills (swords, maces, guns, bows, ...) for as far as your class can learn them. Rogues can't learn staves for instance, so the trainers won't offer it.

I decided to Darkshore, and im glad i did, its a fun place. Westfall was just too depressing for me. Ill go there once im at a higher level.
a few questions :D
If i abandon quests, will i be able to do them later? like i picked up all the quests in westfall, but once i got to darkshore, i had to drop them because darkshore has so many to do.
Secondly, any time i encounter more than one enemy of the same level as me (say 2 level 13 or 14 monsters), i usually end up dead. Is this normal or do i have a lack of training or something :p I havnt gone to any of the weapons trainers yet, so maybe thats something to do. I usually have to pick enemies off one at a time...Alot of my quests in areas with alot of enemies have usually been done by stealth.
Anyway thanks for helping a newbie ;)
I cant play for a day, because i was only on a 10 day trial, and my official game doesnt arrive till tomorrow.
oh this brings me to one final question (for now...)
Im on the Doomhammer EU server. Are there any websites or forums where i might be able to find people from this server, make friends & maybe join a guild in the future...the WoW online communtity is just too big, 1000s of websites, i cant find anything related to this server...

You could always try the official forums...but those aren't very reputable for being helpful. They do have a forum for each server, and for just about everything else you could imagine, but trying to get an honest answer there is like pulling teeth from a rabid wolverine. You'd probably have better luck talking to the folks you encounter in-game.

You should be able to take two mobs your lvl. Gear and weapons make a huge difference. Im not saying to upgrade all the time or to get the best money can buy, but if you are having trouble with two mobs your lvl Id say your lacking in the gear.

ok...where do you think i can buy these weapons? the one i have says it inflicts 8 - 16 damage. anytime i find a weapon it says i dont have the proficency for it, or its a weapon worse than the one i currently have...
is it possible i havnt got good enough armour? usually when 2 mobs gang up on me, theyll have half of my health bar within 1 blow each
i think i probably have to work on my fighting to...my style is pretty gung ho, i just jump in and start slashing at them...i dont dodge or anything like that because usually it just means they inflict more damage on me. also i dont really use any special spells or anything...im not sure what i have access to as a rogue.
Im such a n00b at this game

Look at the ah. Get gear and weapons with + agility, stamina and strength. Avioid intellect and get spirt sparingly. If you cant use it it will be red to you. Also make sure to talk to the rogue trainer every even lvl as you get new talents to buy. Also talk to the weapon trainer to see if you can weild swords. I dont recall which lvl but as a rogue you can get dual wield weapons training from your rogue trainer. Make sure your using a gun or bow to pull mobs if your not stealthing up on them.

thanks for the advice :afro:
I really should get a gun/bow. Do i need training to use them, i did get a few guns/bows after killing mobs.
What do you mean by this bit "Avioid intellect and get spirt sparingly"? I dont know all the technical terms yet.
Also i now bought the game (i downloaded the 10 day free trial), do i need to reinstall it, or shall i just enter the code that comes with it?

just enter the code. you don't need your cd's at all. but be sure your set. once your enter your code it will be permanently tied to your login and nothing can change that.

Yes you use more than 1 comp, I have WoW loaded on 2 laptops and my desktop. Just load the game and use your code, log in ID and password will be the same of course.
I can't answer your 2nd question - I take my laptop to different states in the US when I travel but have never left the country and tried to play WoW.
