How so fast?

Hello, pretty new to this whole pvp malarki so if this is very newbish I can only apologise.

My friends and I have made some lvl 18-19 twinks for BG. Its been great fun! and we are all pretty much hooked and enjoying the challange and learning a lot as we go.

Last night we were playing and as we exited the tunnel mouth I noticed there was a UD rogue already at the "Rage Hut" (as we call it) on the left side. I couldnt understand how he had got there so fast and have never seen anyone get that far before.

We were in a group of 4 on vent so split, two went ramp, two went back up tunnel. I took a speed pot and as a frost mage hoped to frost nova him until help arrived .... I couldnt get near him, he was way faster than me.

Fair enough, he must have taken a pot like me I though but knowing it would wear off soon I followed him int the base and into the flag room where my other two members where.

Paladin stunned him as he grabbed flag, I frosted him and we prepared to bring him down. Not so, trinket I guess and he was off with the four of us in hot pursuit.

He went straight for the tunnel I was so close to the back of him I was doing damage with arcane blast and he just ran off from us .... seriously he tore away from us all. The speed increase was not avaliable in the tunnel, he never even looked for it he just rocketed away.

By the time we reached the end of our tunnel he was pretty much at the hoard tunnel and making his way up .... we just stood in disbelief as he scored.

He then went on to score all 3 flags using the same method or variations thereof.

How can he run the complete way from one end of the field and back at increased movement speed and radically increased movement speed at that?

We went on armory and checked him out, hes a good twink and a lot of kills and honour but nothing we could see to account for the speed he demostrated ...

What are we missing?

If timed right, it is possible to run the whole WSG length with swiftness potion/Speed boots/Sprint

From what he described it sounds like a speed hack. I have witnessed the same thing. I've been twinking a long time and I know the difference between a speed hack and chaining boots/sprint/swift pot/boots.

Not availible for 19 twink. 150/150 is the max Engineering at this level.

Ganondorf, dont be such a grump, I have no requirment at all to make things up it serves no purpose, perhaps for others but not for me I can assure you.

I was unaware you could get hacks for wow, having been drived from CS years ago by the same thing I am a bit gutted they have began to appear here :cry: however I am not for one second suggesting that is what happened I was simple bewildered and astounded by the play of this character I have never seen anyone move as fast as this or for such a prolonged period of time is WSG and wanted to know what I am missing to increase my own game.

As has been said was it just a combination of boots, pots and class abilities, I have no idea thats why I am asking! One thing is for sure, he was untouchable for speed and never have I exitied a BG tunnel to find a hoard passing me on my left heading for the ramp.

Have a peek and advise please, again I am not accusing this person of cheating, seriously I just want to congratulate him he was awesome! If it turns out you cant explain it then thats a different story and he deserves a hard kick in the valuables IMHO but its very much innocent until proven guilty in my book and I would ask anyone posting here to abide by that as well.

My experience is that hackers typically don't gear up to the max because at any given time their toon could be deleted if reported and proven. Rocket boots ARE available at 19 too.

I've seen it done, legit, on 1st and 3rd flags within the same match. If you see someone running all three........back to back to back, it's probably a hack.

i've seen a few pallies pull off speed hacks with blessing of freedom up............they don't last long before they are reported. Not sure why people would go so far as to hack.

Don't know if this guy does it or not.......either way hacks or speed buffs can be beat.

Let them have the first flag. just go straight for their flag in force, hold in their base, and wait for his return. even if he makes it through burn him down and camp him in the gy with a mage to chain sheep him, or simply kill him before he can leave the gy

Of course, in a pug most will just complain and the speeder will be taking advantage of the lack of teamwork more than anything.

To go back to the original post, it seems that alot more people lately are using speed hacks, in a game my friend was in yesterday (I was leveling an alt at the time, saw it on his screen) both the horde and the alliance flag carriers were speed hacking, both in the horde flag room, and all you could see was the streak of the flags running around the room. I've been reporting people who I thought were speed hacking, but in most cases, I get the same thing from blizz...

GM: Are you still in the game?
me: no, it was the last game...
GM: We will look into the matter, if you have any further questions....

Their automated responses always seem uncaring, never sure if even reporting these people ever helps, and the wait time on tickets means that the match is usually long done before they get back to me...

I've reported several people, including one ex-guild member..........who re-rolled horde on a new account and got banned again for hacking. I have usually gotten a quick response from the GM's. when my guild is running we do a good job off locking the game down in time for a GM to get back while the hacker is still on. If I'm in a pug I just note the name and realm and I have yet to see any of the hackers I have reported in the past.

Nah, I don't recall the name of it...but there is a Bristleback guy (Mangle Tooth) in a cage in Camp Taurojo that gives out 1 or 2 quests...once those are completed, you can turn in 5 or 10 Blood Shards to get a speed buff...which gives you 5 or 10 minutes of increased run-speed (equal to about 30-40%)

If you have a twink guild, get everybody this buff and WSG will be over before it starts.

Rather than posting the link to the how to videos on Youtube, I will just say that it is pretty sad to see people hacking and the fact that it is so easy to do means that blizzard really needs to pay attention to it more.

Must be a twink/low level thing. I've never seen a speed hack in 60-70 pvp. (I am nearing 40k kills if that helps you as to how much I've PvP'd)

I've seen it once or twice playing twinks... No one bothers high end - payoff isn't worth it (too easy to get reported/banned - no one really cares on their lvl 19 twink).

(also happens a bit on the PTR in the high end brackets)

There is a way to get past the gates before anyone else, but I thought it was only Hunters that could do it with Eagle Eye. There are definitely some map exploits in WSG that I may not know about.
