Indeed, welcome!
You'll find that a lot of people suffer from the dread 'altitist' ... the sudden desire to play an alt. I have a few myself, but my main keeps taking up all my time.
Hope you enjoy your stay with us!

the only cure i know of for altalism is mount fever. that should get u to 40 at least. then maybe the desire to quest in outlands for those sweet quest rewards? ehh maybe lol. welcome.

Love it how people keep giving it different names. So far I heard "altitis", "altitism", "altalism" and "altoholic", but I'm sure there are more out there which I am forgetting.
And yes, welcome to the forums.

Depends, if the game gets those nasty barbed claws into you, you'll be ordering a copy when you get to the 50s. It's really rather good.

Unless you really want to play a blood elf or a draenei, there isn't much reason to worry about the expansion until you get higher. (No sense going there till 58).
As someone said, getting a mount is a real good incentive to atleast get to 40. Running the length of STV can get real old, real fast.
Another incentive for advancing higher is that the talents that you can get are really great. Look deep into the tree that you are specing in and find those cool talents that you are willing to work for. I have a rogue that I advance quite a few levels with the main goal of getting dual hand weapon specialization to increase my damage. Nothing wrong with alt-itis, but you really miss out on some of the best abilities of the classes.
Good luck

yah i have a few 60's on one server and a 70 on different one. but i just started one on an even different server cuz i hooked up with some rl buds that i haven't seen in a long time. they don't have a priest so i rolled one. i'm up to 31 atm and those guys took me to farm doan in sm to get all his good drops and that has given me motivation to get to 34 so i can wear/use that gear. but my real motivation is to get to 40 not just for the mount, but for shadowform. lvl 40 is the soonest u can get it and i want that badly lol. so yah check out the skill tree and im' sure you'll see something that will motivate you to earn more points.
