Peculiar, to say the least. Isn't leveling part of the whole game? Exploring Azeroth, enjoying the quests and so on?

If you don't enjoy playing than you might as well quit. If its not fun for you to be playing wow your really just wasting your 15 dollars a month. Why pay to not have fun...

My friend hates leveling too, but loves the game - I don't understand it but obviously the grind was worth it for him. Just grit your teeth and grind/quest/instance to 70 and then do whatever you like. Put on some music and turn on the TV (if available) and just hack it out. I enjoy leveling and you just have to realize that if you keep at it even though you don't notice a ton of difference at one time, it all adds up. Other than that, I've got nothing for you.

Maybe take advantage of rested XP and go walk in a park while it accumulates? But, I'm curious - what are you planning on doing once you hit 70?

start an alt and leave your main in the bank for a week so you get loads of rest. Also, I never just "grind" for xp, I do the quests... levelling comes faster than your ability to clear out the quests for a level-appropriate area.

I agree...there are only a small percentage of players that can just push through the grind to 70. I chose to have many alts, and play whatever class I felt like messing around with, when I wanted to. Most of the time, they would be in rested xp for the time I was levelling them. If this doesn't appeal to you...drink. One drunken session of grinding will get you your 600k, haha.

Power grind Bloodfurnace and Ramparts if you can get a dedicated guild group. You can do about 150k an hour in there with a 3 DPS, 1 tank(in dps gear), 1 healer group. There were guys on my server who were 64 by the day after TBC was released.

I had the same problem. I would log in… stare at my character for a few seconds, step out of the door of the inn, go back, and go and level one my alts (although I blame my class choice – paladin). My guild thought that I was crazy (well, everyone except the paladins thought that I was crazy).

Then I learned the joy of levelling through instances. It wasn’t as fast as pure grinding/questing would have been, but at least I was having fun again. And I still had to grind/quest a bit (in order to cover repair bills. Instance runs with PuGs are expensive), but it was something I could force myself to do in order to run the next instance.

Good luck! Stick it out… it should get better.

I agree it can be a real bore - one seems to hit a plateau now and again when you just don't level fast enough

It used to be 40-50 was the worst segment, but my priest (who is supposed to be my main) has been 54 for ages and I just can't motivate myself to get him to 58.

Part of the reason is that I was levelling with a friend who hasn't been online in 2 weeks. As he doesn't look like he's coming back soon I'll have to press on alone.

Logically, I know that as soon as I hit outland I'll start to enjoy playing him a lot more, but that doesn't seem to motivate me enough to force the next 4 levels in WPL/EPL/Winterspring.

i went to outland last thursday with maximum rested bonus at lvl57. grinded to 58, started questing and hit half of 59 last night. that was only playin maybe 2 hours thursday, 2 hours friday, and 3 for saturday and sunday each. 1000 xp per kill, 10,000 xp per quest...gota love it ;)

I didn't think the grind from 60 to 70 was that bad at all. And I even did half of it as a resto shaman. But I did use resting experience for a large chunk. At 69 you're at the top of the WSG/AB/EotS bracket and the queues aren't that much longer than at 70. If you're horde, in my battlegroup (Rampage) it sure seemed that these 3 BG's were won even more by the hordies in the 60-69 bracket than the 70 bracket. Especially EotS and AB were often a complete walkover. I happily collected heaps of marks at 69, then had full resting experience for the level and finished the job.

Just wait till you hit level 60, the xp needed to get to 61 is somewhere around 600,000. Even at 1000 xp per kill and 10,000 xp per quest, it seems to take forever to hit the next level. I ususally have to force myself to play my main for the first half of a level, but once I see the xp bar hit the half way mark I feel more motivated. Then I level and my main sits in the inn for a few days while I play around with my alts.

From 60 to 61 its ~400,000exp actually, I just got 61 about 30 mins ago  .

But yeah as others have said, you just gotta go for it. The way i do it now is that I have stopped caring about levelling up uber fast, and kinda take my time. I don't care if im slow, I have fun :). And yeah as the others have said, if you REALLY cant face levelling up some more, go make an alt and enjoy the level every hour bit of fun to remind you the noise hehe...just one tip: NEVER delete any character you make, unless you need the room for another character, or something. Too many times I have regretted deleting a level 20 just becuase im bored of it ^^.
Just my 2cents :)

After this weekend of being ganked by every alli I saw or saw me for that matter, this is my goal as well..

I'm new to a PVP server, so I know getting ganked is part of the game. But seriously.. Not one 40 or higher could not just walk by me without killing me.. Do you realize that you get NO honor for killing a grey..

I know is a do on to others as other do on to you... But right when I am finishing up killing 5 mobs, and am down to almost 0 health.. Leave me the F alone...

So, I have made a vow.. When i hit 70.. I am going to kill every crappy ally in my sight.. Not just once. I am going /dance on their body until they come bac and kill them again...Because allys think that it is cool and ok to do it to others... They must LOVE 5 min. GY runs..

I cant even count how many times that "I f'n hate the alliance" came out of my mouth this weekend.

/end rant.

I do the same thing, I always hate the first part of a new level, I need to see a few bars of exp there before I can really get going.

I don't play that often so I always have rested bonus going for me. Thats helps a lot.

For me running instances is a nice change of pace. Over the weekend me, 55 Pali, and my friends (a 56 rogue and a 67 Hunter) went back and did ZF because none of us had ever finished it prior. We didn't get any exp but it was fun and a nice break from the normal leveling.

I also ran the Sunken Temple with the same group to complete my friends rogue quest. We have Vent set up so we can talk and we had a blast.

To the OP: I guess my point is that the game is what you make of it. Its not all about leveling and not everything you do has to give exp to be fun.

Yes outland really makes u feel better for a while, some nice gears, 10k quests rewards
but now at 63 still need 300k xp to lvl aw -.-
and the spells of 63 and 64 i wont use cuz its not part of my build
my server is pretty dead, the ally never get the flags in Helffire, so no PvP, pugs are hard to find, already spend like 2 hour inthe lfg tool and cant get a group
then bgs only at 68-69, and my guild just talk about kara, and that seems so far :(

When I get bored of questing/grinding, I put myself in the LFG for an instance. It won't net me the xp/hr I want, but it will make the grind to 70 much more enjoyable....and it will get you good gear and (since ou are post-60) some excellent rep.

Similar situation. Burned out on my mage at 67 and couldn't get the interest to go any further. Put him in the bank for a month and played alts and worked on the alts professions.

Pulled the mage back out. Was fired up. Got to 70.

I have now rolled Horde on The Venture Co to get my feet wet with this PVP action.

Whatever you do don't delete anyone you will regret it later.

I am the same way. My level 65 mage is currently on hiatus because of the leveling. My favorite part of the game is PvP and that is the only thing that drives me to level...to get to level x8 so that I can compete in my bracket. It's funny how fast I'll level from x0 to x8 and then I'll stay there for about a month and then move on. I can only level on rested xp...leveling on regular xp would likely result in cancelling my sub!

You could always grind by killing boars in an uncontested zone like Cartman and friends. Or re-roll on a PvE server.

Reroll PvE, that's what I did. Well, mostly I did it because it seemed the general populace of my old server (Trollbane EU) was made up of 12 year olds with nothing nice to say about anyone, but still.

What!? Do you want to tell me all of that time I've spend harvesting kills in the lowbie zones have given me no honor? Well, at least I gave them a reason to fight me when they grow up…

Disclaimer: I don't (usually) gank. Just a small one here or there whose intentions I don't trust.

Hey all

For me, I hate leveling but when i get to 42 and get to Tanaris I start to love it again, I dont know why but I just love Tanaris, I think its because the quests are cool and I get to kill Pirates  Although its kinda big I just love leveling there and then leveling gets sour at 46 onwards to 58 as we need to quest in WS, EPL and WPL and sometimes Sithilus, I hate those places except ofcourse WS when I see Troll Hunters botting at the Yeti cave then it starts to get better

When I got to Outland instances at that level is kinad easy with a good group so you must have been really unlucky if you died in all your instance groups  Just need to hang on and try and get some fun into grinding/leveling  try turning on the radio in the background that can make grinding/leveling seem faster which helps me, or you may want to try and take your luck into bgs, even at that level you may not make to much differance but you can be annoying.

You just need to make the most of it, what I like to say to myself is when I get to 70 I dont need to level no more. But then I remember all the rep I need to get for CE to get the leg armor then I remember that I just leveled my hunter to 70 to get the leg armor for his leatherworking prof to then make for my level 61 Druid to level her up to 70 and then I go "Oh crap!"

Well Good Luck!!

My 70 druid is on a PvE server. A bunch of us rolled on a PVP server just for a change of pace...

Do I mind when a toon my level comes up to me and take a swing at me, no. Because I can defend myself against that. Nothing I can do against someone 10 levels or more ahead of me.

Asides from lay down on the ground and take my beating like a man... :sigh:
