No Healing Weapon Reward...

What's with this? There's no healing staff, mace, or offhand at level 70. Does blizzard just hate healers, or is this pure oversight or planning? I really dislike endgame PvE, but I like to think that I could equip myself in really solid gear from PvP rewards. However, because there's no healing reward, I'm forced to drop close to 1300g on a hand of eternity, and use the level 70 damage offhand. It's either this or do PvE, which I really do dislike.

I would say it was an oversight. Have you considered arenas? Come the new patch there is an AWESOME healing mace and Damage/Healing mace from arena awards. They still don't have one for regular BG pvp honor rewards, and I'm not sure if they are planning on it. Also, it really won't take you that long to get something like the Sha'tar mace through PvE or get a blue from PvE 5-mans which won't take that long and is probably worth your while, even if you hate 5-mans.

i actually didn't know they had a healing weapon being implemented for arena. I might just not buy the hand of divinity, and grind it out in arena. I had plans to go there after I was well enough equipped, anyway. I have 60k honor sitting around that I'm about to drop on a bunch of gear, at which point I plan to start. That new weapon will be my first purchase.

Sha'tar rep would take quite a few runs of PvE content. As it is, I hate each and every instance I run, haha. I don't have the attention span for it. I have the seer's cane from getting scryer rep. But that's hardly great--just decent. It would probably last me until I got the arena reward. However, I'm frugal enough that I woudln't drop a +81 enchant on it. I save enchants for gear I know I'll use for a long time.

Also, where did you go for such in-depth information? I've only seen some patch notes, adn I don't recall them going into the detailed spec's of any items.

as a rule for myself, every time there's a new Public Test Realm (ptr) I log in and check for changes to my gear, vendor/pvp/rep/arena gear... (obviously i don't check every bit of gear, but key pieces are always good to check - for example the Sha'tar rep healing mace is getting a nice little buff).

It's not a Hand of Eternity, but there are some decent blues such as The Essence Focusser which, at least on my server, are less than 100g.

yes...i realize there are decent healing options. I ahve the seer's cane...which really is a solid staff. However, I want to be geared as well as possible. If only I coudl use a shield. Half of a shaman's armor comes from his shield...4.5k armor? I mean really...an extra 18% damage reduction? Priests want more armor, prease.
