Okay. So pre-patch this was an entertaining event where we would laugh if someone actually died.
Now, we all die. Like 4 times. Seriously.
First, this guy is much smarter, and he cuts corners to get in front of someone instead of following them. He can even walk through the house object now like it wasnt there
And, hes just as fast as the runner, if not faster. I dont know if were getting the LRRH speed buff or what.
His speed alone combined with the fact hes smart enough to cut you off, this was a mess
I looked on the official forums
Some people said "we one shotted that, its easy"
Other people have the same problem
My only guess is, or pre-patch strat is no longer any good and won't work, where other peoples strats do =/
We always tank him near the entrance door, right hand of stage... with the group sitting / waiting on the opposite side of the stage, wait for him to approach then run him through the tree objects, and behind the house
Top it off, some abilities / spells no longer work on LRRH
Srsly... big bad wolf is now.... big and bad.

we used our normal strat last night with no issue aside from losing 2 clothies near the end of the fight.
We don't tank him at the door, we tank him in the far corner of the stage opposite the house with dps group in the corner where the house is. The hunters couldn't fd out of the debuff and the mage couldn't ice block out of the debuff, that's about all I noticed.

Oz gave us all sorts of trouble last night. Wiped 3 times before we decided to just burn tinhead to a crisp before anything else. After that, it was smooth sailing. I have yet to see big bad wolf.

LOL i drew a little diagram of the stage...hope you can uderstand it
But this is how we set it up.
Tank tanks him in that spot (T) and always bring bigbad wolf back to that spot when hes finished chasing.
Melee stands between tank and group at max melee range, if turned into redriding hood, run towards group, then to door, and procede to run around outside of stage
Group always stands in this spot, and as soon as you get turned into little riding hood, you run towards door and procede to run around the outside of the stage.
This setup gives you a perfect distance between the group and the boss...not too far of a distance where he can cut corners and catch you, but enough distance to give you time to run without being hit.

Last nights group used same as above and one-shotted him.
Nothing changed as far as our strategy was concerned.

Well, if riding hood runs too soon, he will cut you off.
The good thing about that setup is the wolf comes straight for the group, then by the time u realise you are riding hood the wolf is almost to you and you make a beeline for the door with the wolf in close pursuit.

I think the trick is to stay ahead of the wolf, but not too far ahead because he will cut corners...so try to leave him 5 yards behind you and just procede to kite him around the outside of the stage.
Try to stay as close to the walls as you can, but don't rub up against the walls because there is stuff to get hung up on...and don't get too far ahead of the wolf, try to keep him as close as you can without getting hit...that will keep him from cutting corners.

He always cut corners pre-patch if you didn't wait for him to catch up a little. We haven't taken him on since the patch though so I don't know if it's any different now.

The encounter is virtually the same....our hunter could still Fd out last night, although other things weren't working like bubble. It appears that you just really need to be on with your healing on LRRH and making sure your team knows how to kite effectively instead of just balls out running around the room. If they make a mistake they are going to die....that's about all the advice I can give....we one shotted him last night just like every time in the last 2 months.

I dont beleive its the same.
Before he was slower than the player and a corner cut or two didnt matter
Now he can actually run fast enough to get in FRONT of the player and they get screwed
Unless we arn't getting the speed buff or something
Oh also note, he fears more often, sometimes fearing when the timer wasn't complete yet.

He's always been the same speed as the runner as far as I've noticed. I wonder though, if some sort of snare used to work on him but now doesn't? I always read prior to facing him for the first time how you run faster than he does, but when we faced him that wasn't the case. But we still managed. The strat is simple as everyone knows. Just takes the healers being on the ball really.

Timers do get out of whack from time to time.....also the timer isn't necessarily time till the next whatever...it's a cooldown timer meaning that it is available when the timer expires , but doesn't necessarily mean its coming at that exact moment.
Ya he is the same speed, I did notice he can ignore some of the items in the way that you could previously use to slow him, but it' still just about kiting effectively and healing LRRH when they get hit.

Well, tried the diagram. And went something like this, about 7 times.
LRRH1 - Dead
LRRH2 - Dead
LRRH3 - Dead
LRRH4 - Dead
And so forth. Meh, Im gonna disregard the casual "nothings changed he ez 1 shot" posts because obviously hes not the same.
Gotta love how he stuns the tank, fears the tank away before you can stance dance after being stunned, kills someone while feared, then does LRRH next to the group before hes even back in his corner and kills another. Such fun.
But anyway.
We passed it by stacking rogues who can vanish and hunters who can feign. Screw the LRRH deal.
Finally.

our hunter tried to fd and died because the lrr debuff maintained aggro on wolf. not sure how your hunter was able to do it but I would love to know.
On a side not, got romulo and julianne in our second raid group last night and that has definitely changed. We could not spell steal either one and all mage counterspells showed up as immune.
Anyone get them and have this problem?

Hunter said you have to feign, then lay there until the buff wears off, instead of feigning and getting back up.
FD can be resisted occasionally too.

Well I know you are going to ignore this post, but I'm going to post it anyway.
We got BBW on Wednesday night, and it was no different for us. As others have said, the key is that when you get LRRH you have to hesitate a moment before you start running, or he WILL cut corners.

yeah, our hunter FD and held it and bbw went up and 2 shotted her. Was as if fd didn't fool him. She didn't say anything about getting resisted. Since we finished the event, we can't really go back and test until reset =)

Feign death can be resisted, and the resist rate like other abilities occurs more often on higher level mobs (i.e. bosses).

We lose 1 or 2 but seldom more - with ankhs, soulstones, combat rezzes, who cares? Just nuke!

Yeah, so we got the Big Bad Wolf last night for the first time post patch, and yup--he's definitely harder than he used to be! Before it was a kind of fun, kind of silly fight where you get to "oh noes I'm little red riding hood" run around and goof off a bit. No big deal, deaths were rare, and the fight was easy.
Now? You definitely gotta be careful and have everyone paying attention! We still put him down after a few tries (compared to only ever one-shotting it pre-patch), but Blizzard has definitely notched up the difficulty a few levels!

I die, every time. Rogue sucks on that fight :P
I think my favorite one was where he feared me into the corner behind the MT, then turned me into RRH and crit me for 8k twice in a row. That was FUN.
That being said, its fairly straightforward still. Just remind people not to run early and you'll be ok.
