with my twink rogue is a twink hunter. i have a gnome rogue that owns every class including ice mages because the racial escape artist is wat helps me there. but my god, i hate hunters. i give them props for killing me 80% of the times. maybe i just haven't figured out how to stop their concussives and traps that slow me, and i need 2 learn how to fight them better, or are they just balanced out to be able to kill rogues easier? any other rogues out there having this problem?
thanks

OP - A good hunter will never be killed by a rogue. Heck, a level 10 hunter that knows how to kite and gets the first shot off against a twink rogue will kill it.
Blow CD's. Choose your fights, start in close, and stay in close. The moment you get wingclipped, pop sprint. You have until sprint is finished its CD to kill him. If you don't...pop a Sprint pot. You have until that wears off. If he is STILL not dead, pop your AGM. If he is not dead by the end of that...you better hope he popped a few pots or his AGM. Because, if he didn't....delete your rogue. :)

If you are fighting hunters that have access to freeze traps, you are not playing in the correct BG.
Oh, I have plenty of problems with hunters. The difference...IF I could get in their face...once....just once....they were dead. With an 80%+ dodge, tehy couldn't get distance on me. If I saw a huters mark above my head and I was NOT close to them, didn't have CD's readily available, then thats when you get screwed.

I hate hunters on my rogue, especially marksman hunters. They have so many tools to get range with, and a ton of burst damage that it is hard to get them. They are our counter class. Best chance is to stun lock you before they catch you around, if they know you are close, they will drop a trap to interrupt your stun lock. If you can get the opener without getting trapped, you have a much much better chance of taking them out.

Druids, as a warrior. In bear, they hit me for more than i can hit them, and have more hp. Mathematically impossible to beat unless I can stay at their tail, for which they have to be underskilled.
Hope I can get the polearm from mag tonite, maybe that can make a difference.

Kinda tricky to do either of those with a pet scratching up your face or whatever it can reach at lvl 19 and a hunter turning you into a needle cushion or a swiss cheese.. but I see your point.. works until lvl 40.

And the reason WHY you feel embarassed is because you just walked into yet another trap, which you know as soon as they break shadowmeld.
Yes, it's getting old, but fortunately my NE hunter is more than 1½ year old so I was 1 of the first (million) to pick the combination.. and lets face it, it's epic fun!

With my 29 twink hunters are more of an annoyance its the twink pallys that give me the most trouble, by the time you "kill" them 3 times your near dead or someone els has joined the battle.
Imo hunters that you can get the first blow on are easy as pie esp with crippling poison. If they start the battle vanish, sprint to them or use the ol net-o-matic and hope to god the pos works

I absolutely hate warlocks...
and recently ( as i just started pvping again after i hit 70)Rogues and druids, any other class is a fair fight,i'm not used to being torn to shreds by droods in catform but appearantly they are significantly stronger then they were at 60,at 60 they were one of the easiest classes for me,now ,they're a nightmare!
And warlocks i don't want to talk about, they got all the tools to counter a wee shadowpriest like me,if they lose they simply must be retarded:(
And i still don't get why every damn shadowpriest runs around in shadowform at any given time and never even look at the situation they're in ..hell,if i'm entering LM with more then one person on my side i'll pop right out and POM to their heart's content!!

Hunters .. what class CAN defeat them (if played not too dumb)?
From my rogue/lock/pally only my (combat) rogue has a chance, if she has the initiative (and if the hunter doesn't play perfect, but - to my relief - usually they don't).
Although I meet a remarkably lot of not-so-smart hunters in 20-29 who let my (affliction) lock come into melee range .. ^^ but I've also been eaten up by just the pet .. they kill you faster than you can DoT them. Sometimes I wonder what's the need for a hunter's pet anyway, they're very strong already without.
Pally (prot) has no chance at all. So many freeze/frost traps and wingclips, she's 100% dead vs. hunters.

Rogues have problems with the following twink classes: Hunters, Mages, and maybe Warlocks. If you're completely twinked out, and they're completely twinked out, it's going to be one hard battle.
On my Warlock (Only level 35, in AB.) a Mage must've had at LEAST +600 spell damage on him. His Fireballs (Yes, I said Fireballs) were hitting me for 880-1K damage, not critting, hitting. He must've been lacking HP, because he would ALWAYS sneak up on people, and would usually have 1 person tanking up ahead of him so he wasn't the main target. He was truely amazing even though I think twinks take 1% skill, 99% gear.

The only class that consistently gives me problems in BGs is the Warlock. I cannot, for the life of me, come up with a decent strategy to beat them. The only time I win (15% of the time maybe) is when I feel that I'm playing someone who is retarded. I'm serious.
Pali's never give me problems. Shaman rarely give me problems. Druids sometimes give me problems. Mages often give me problems. Warlocks always give me problems.
My favorite class to fight? A PEW PEW match with another hunter.

There's nothing better then marking the rogue dumb enough to not see the Hunter first and he STILL stealths.
The fact that he stays hidden from the other people is still null, because the Hunter has him marked for execution.

Hunters aren't that good for actually winning in BG's. They shine mainly for picking off kills from the real players. They can slow down flag carriers but as for their individual value, a mage offers more towards winning at BG's imo.
I have the most trouble with twinked warriors and druids. I typically play hybrid chars like pally/druid/shamans just because I dont have to respec to do what i Like. I am always #1 for honorable kills when i do BG's, specially WsG. And while on my 19 pally, i love to see Rogue totally decked out run after me, because I can sway them all the way to the side of the map while a priest/warrior capture their flag. Ironic, they care soo much about Killing blows that they dont mind losing because of it. <3 pally

Hunters do have 1 major advantage in PvP:
They're a HUGE pain in the *** to ANYONE. Rogues keep getting unstealthed by them, casters get constantly interrupted, Warriors, Shamans, and Paladins can't catch them unless they catch them killing someone else...
And even better: Once you're in melee with a hunter staying there isn't hard.
What this does is that EVERYONE attacks the hunter before the healer, flagcarrier, fully visible rogue, or whatever. Add mail armor and spirit bond to that and you got the most effective PvP tank in the game.
Well, at least in the grown-up battles. The Hunter class gets better the higher lvl u get so at lvl 19 I don't suspect they're much of a challenge.
(Examples: Warlocks get their imp at.. what.. lvl 6? Hunters are usually lvl 11 by the end of their pet-quest. FD isn't 'till lvl 30. TBW at lvl 50. Steady Shot - a VERY important ability to max out DPS - at lvl.. 62 or 64, can't remember. Misdirection no sooner than lvl 70)
Lets take rogues to compare to.. Stealth+Backstab at lvl 1, Dual Wield at lvl 10 iirc, Ambush at lvl 18, Poisons at lvl 20, Vanish at 22, Cheap Shot at 26, and what other abilities do u really need?

A feral druid FC would win more WSG's than any other class by a long shot.
First off. warlocks can get imp at lvl 1.
And hunters are extremely powerful at 19. You see many more rogue twinks but thats because nubs who cant lvl to 70 decide that keeping a rogue at lvl 19 is cool.
I have a 19 twink huter and a 19 twink rogue. (haha yes, i basically called my self a nub, but i dont count, i have a 70 )The rogue is way more decked out than the hunter is, but i consistantly do better on my hunter.. simply because he dies less and with multishot i can get a group of three very ow on health before they even notice me.
Hunters will allways be extremly powerful in any BGs simply because they are ranged physical dps, they can stay behind the lines and nuke.. and have plenty ways to stay out of close combat. Hunter is probably the easiest class to do well with in BG.
Play a hunter in arena though... then you will realize how big of a nub you really are. It actually takes some effort and skill to do well in arena with a hunter. If you think your a uber pvp hunter, try a arena or two.

Only problem is that I cba with PUGs and I need - at the very least - a ranged weapon equal to that from HH before I can get in my guild's arena team. With bombing runs + aetherray roping that shouldn't take me more than 50 days to get at Ogr'la.
As for hunters doing good in lvl 19 WSGs.. well of course they do! Any half-twinked character that is alt of a person who've spent more than a month in-game will woop the butts of 'normal' players with or without any talent-points spent. The range and tiny casting-times only makes it easier to grab killing blows from a large area (a tactic I've employed whenever a twink offended my cat).
However, this doesn't even begin to compare to the tanking power of a lvl 59 TBC-geared BM Hunter. They'll have more HP than most Warriors there, huge range, they're impossible to cast anything but instants against, and if they combine their pet's DPS with a immolation trap and a high-dmg 2-hander they can actually out-DPS warriors even if forced in melee. In the case of Rogues their HP will save them if the Rogue doesn't get an opener, and their pet will if he does (intimidate+kite).
If you even get enchanted.. I dare not think about it.

Thats cause your not fighting people that know how to deal with a succy. try seducing when she has a DoT on her. Depending on your spec you can come out on top. I love seeing succys in the arenas when i am in there as my lock, cause i know i am gonna win (see invis FTW). Im gonna assume your a destruction spec (since destros use succys the most). Personally I dont take the time to banish. I jsut outright place a dot on the pet, unless they are a felguard they will die fast enough and you wont be able to use thier abilities while they are dotted. Now im not knocking you down on that cause it is a tried and true tactic that you are using, i jsut think the people your fighting have no clue how to deal with your pets ;).

Is that a fact?
Maybe you should try one first before you truely believe that.
It is.
Well, dunno 'bout the laughing and ignoring, but for lvling a BM all you need is to tame a pig (which is free), buy some low-grade ammo (which is cheap), and feigning death whenever you're in a tight situation to keep repairing to a minimum. Mark, /petattack, a sting, and autoattack all the way 'till you get Steady Shot. It wont exactly be fast, but not the slowest there is, either.
Admittedly the "laugh and ignore" bit makes me doubt he's more than 10 years old - the increased monotomy of grinding gives hunters lots of time to philosophise on the art of pulling and their abilities makes them even better on doing so, just to mention 1 place you should listen to them - but it is a fact that it's a cheap and easy class to level.
Easy as far as "what you have to do" i guess...
But Rogue has been the easiest character ive ever leveled..
My brother and I both got to about level 40 (ish) somewhere in that range a little over 40... Both rogues, and it was extremely easy.. so many quests we could just go straight to boss's on, we only have to fight what we need to fight, we dont have hardly ANY down time at all...
Rogue is my favorite character as far as leveling is concerned
The warlock is nice for leveling to because you can dark pact your pet for mana, life tap for mana, dot up about 3-5 enemies depending on what mobs your fighting..
I guess he did not say fastest so I guess he could be right as far as who is the easiest.......
