The Dark Portal?

My friend was leveling his mining and asked me where the best place to farm fel iron was. I told him to run around the dark portal and he did, but told me that he found nothing. Has anyone else experienced this? Did they take out the fel iron nodes around the Stair of Destiny?

every man and his dog knows about the ore behind the portal so back in january when you could mine 20-30 nodes a trip you are now lucky to get 1 or 2
