View Full Version : Installation Problem Warcraft III

Hey first off i don't know where else to put this so please don't flame me if it's in the wrong section.
This is my first post and unfortunatly it has to be a complaining, ask for help one but i can't install Warcraft 3 everytime i do i get this error message:
Setup was unable to read the following data file. Your Warcraft III CD may not have been in the CDROM drive.
D:\Movies\TutorialIn.mpq
Setup was unable to copy the following file:
Movies\TutorialIn.mpq
Error 0x00000015: The device is not ready.
(C:\temp\remaster\wc3-rel-1-0-lockit\Installer\Source\DiskUndo.cpp:240)

I've been on some other forums and they said to copy to my hard drive and install from there but when i try to do this i get the same error message.
I know that the problem is my TutorialIn.mpq and also the UndeadEd.mpq movie files so if someone has the game can you please send me these 2 files to E-mail nuked for privacy reasons, please send PM instead, if you feel like contacting him. Signed, Valas.as these are the only 2 files that don't copy over so i can can save them on my hard drive and hope to install it from there.

Sounds like the CD you are copying from has scratches or something on it. You could try copying the files off on a different comptuer. I know for a fact that if you copy all the files off the CD to a folder on your hard disk (your desktop for example), the game will install fine from there.

Maybe see if one of your mates has a copy of the CD you can borrow? So long as you use your cd-key, you'll be fine :)

browse through the CD itself and locate the files, then try to manually copy them over. if it still fails, it's one of two things - bad CD, or bad drive. obviously, most likely it's a bad cd, but at least you have another thing to try

To get the files simply google the file name and you should find em somewhere to download.

a) Try the forums here (http://maps.worldofwar.net/forums). They do WC3, whereas we do WoW. There is some overlap, but you're more likely to get help there, because you can be assured that the folks there have the game, whereas here it's throwing the dice.

b) I've nuked your e-mail account mentioning for privacy reasons and altered the suggestion to PM'ing you to get the e-mail. This because of the existence of web-crawlers, which look for e-mails on forums, so said accounts can be deluged with spam.

Hey thanks for the suggestions everyone who has posted, i've tried to click the link to the warcraft 3 forums but the page doesn't load ive also tried to go back to the main page and access it from there but the same thing happens so can a mod please move it to the appropriate forum thanks.

It's on a different server site to which I don't have any authorization rights. Admin might be able to move it, still, I also forgot that they've recently moved to some new servers as well. Try this (http://war3.incgamers.com/forums/index.php) instead.
