buy another stick of 512 ram, and you'll be fine

Norton is stubborn, as far as I know there was no way to turn off the accursed program other than Removing the Softare from this laptop. Nothing but problems with it.

I know, If it wasn't for it having a trojan horse in quarantine it would be gone.

get NOD32, if you know how to use torrents i'll shut up, else you'll have to buy it. But the program is better then Norton, is very low on memory, and updates itself in the background, without you even knowing. It is a very good scanner, and detect all wrong stuff... combine this with firefox and adaware (or the like) and you'll have no more problems of pop-ups, viruses, ad ware, spy ware and all that evil stuf.

Well the horrible irony is that if I take it off, the trojans may invade, but leaving it makes me unable to play games....

and what if you delete the trojan horse.. you dont have to leave it in quarantine forever do you?

Well here's the thing, I don't know what file it is. I don't want to delete a core computer boot file or something.

If it's quarantined, then I don't think your machine can access it anyway. So if you're running ok, it's probably not a core file.
You could easily get another stick of 512 and you should be fine (even with Nortons in the background)
