skinning above 300?

I think with TBC you can get skinning to 375. Right now I'm lvl 44 and my skinning is 296. When I hit 300, where do I go to get the next level of skinning?

I know you have to go to outlands to get it, but i don't know exactly where in outlands, shatt maybe? But either way, you'd have to have a mage friend port you there or spam mages there for a port, which will probly cost you around 2-3g, depending on how nice people are on your server.

I think there's a grand master skinner trainer in Shatt, but I've never made it that far before having the training. There's a GM skinner trainer in Honor Hold and in Thrallamar. You might have to be lvl 50 to talk to them, but I wouldn't be surprised if you didn't.

yep get a nice mage to portal you to shat then take a griph to hellfire. its an auto flight path to honour hold and learn skinning 300-375. my lvl 42 hunter has skinning 315 so far

Can I learn the next level of skinning now at 296, or do I need to wait till 300? I think I'll get a port to Shat, that sounds like the easiest way. Plus I would like to see the new area.

You can learn the new skinning level (in Honour Hold/Thrallmar iirc) w/ 275 skill, minimum level of 45.

And find some bodyguards if you plan on skinning anything to get your skill up.
Even if you just look for corpses to skin, the spawn rates in the area are going to be fast enough that (at lvl 45) you might as well hang a pork chop around your neck and ring the dinner bell. :rolleyes:

I don't think there is a level requirement for gathering professions - the only requirement that has anything to do with level is can you survive the areas you need to go to, kill the things you need to skin, etc to boost the skill further? That is the issue.
Mining veins, mobs with tougher skins, herbs in areas where there are higher level mobs, etc all require YOU to be higher level to survive (unless you go with help) to level up the skill. Otherwise, like the one poster said, might as well ring the dinner bell...lol

Yeah, i just got ported to outlands tonight to up on my skinning, i'm a level 45, and i trained in it no problem (cost is 10g in case you were wondering). So that's all ya need to do! :thumbsup:
