I just downloaded WoW yesterday on my iMac G4.
I ran WoW and created my character.
After about 2 minutes of playing it disconnects me.
Apparently it disconnects me every 1-30 seconds after i enter WoW.
[everything freezes in place but I can still walk around.. I just can't communicate with the server at all]
And then after about 3 minutes of waiting it will boot me back to the WoW startup screen.
The firewall on my router is disabled and so is my firewall on my mac.
I opened all necessary ports but it is still not helping.
There could be a third party firewall on my iMac but I don't know because I've only been using Macs for the last 24 hours. Does anyone know how to check?
-_-
It meets all system requirements besides for CPU speed.
the cpu is 800MHZ and minimum requirements are 933MHZ.
I set all the graphics and etc to the lowest possible and the smallest resolution.
=/
Nothing works.
Anyone have any advice?

You need a new system. You can't overclock a mac to get the necessary speed boost, and you'll keep disconnecting as the processor falls behind its workloads too much, it simply isn't enough.

I dont think it is cpu speed. i say this because i ran my WoW on a cpu speed lower than minimum required for a year before upgrading.
This sounds more like a connection issue communicats with the servers and your isp or your specific ip.
I feel your pain, i spent a lot of time with problems like these.
Here are some things i can suggest that i keep on top of...
Are you playing on a wireless? If so, make sure you have setup PORT FORWARDING, if you use a router and a wireless computer, then wow will not communicate regularly with your interenet and you will experience exactly what you are describing.
If you have setup your port forwarding correctly, verify that you are on a static IP address. Basically, if you are not static, then your ip will switch between your computers and as they switch the ip addresses, you port forwarding will be inaccurate.
To check to see if this is the problem
>go to start menu
>go to cmd prompt for dos
>with your internet connection type in the dos prompt "ipconfig" (without paratntheses)
>this will display your computers ip address as it needs to be setup to play WoW...for example it will show somehting like 192.168.2.3
make sure that under your routers configuration and port forwarding it shows this ip and not 192.168.2.1 or 192.168.2.2 depending on how many computers you have.
As i mentioned before, if you do not use a static ip, everytime you reset your router, the ip between your computers will change between themselves, so this should be the first thing you check when you have the problems you are having.
If you have already done this. Update your drivers. I had the same problems at 2.1 and updating my drivers mostly fixed the issue along with getting rid of all my addons. Granted, that created another issue where i was getting critical errors upon mounting, but blizz seems to have fixed that with there most recent hot fix patch and i have had no problems since.
If all else fails, run a trace route and see what comes up and where you are timing out. See the official forums support page for setting that up.
Edit: Also, make sure you delete you addons folder and WTF folder. Both will recreate themselves the next time you start wow, just backup any macros or anything of that nature as it will not be saved.
