Tier gear?

ive seen people talk about tier 5 and tier 3 gear and so on and i was just wondering what it was

Its gear you get through raiding. Tier 3 being better than tier 2 etc.

They are different levels of epic armor achieved by raiding and completing dungeons. The first sets (lvl 60) were called T1, T2 and T3. The release of TBC introduced T4, T5 and T6. If you have T1, the next set is harder to attain with T6 being the ultimate. At least until Blizz makes a T7+.

There were also dungeon sets that were considered T0 and other misc sets considered 1.5. It gets confusing, but don't worry about it. You want to pick up on T4 and forget anything below that.
