I've only been to kara a few times. I would say probably 10 times. Until last night I had never downed anyone but attunmen and the animal boss. Most of my forays were attempts to down attunmen. I'm only honored, and still need 2k for revered. We downed moroes last night and cleared up to maiden but couldn't get her down.
My question is, how often do most of you see trash drops?
On three different runs I have seen:
Rogue Gloves
+frost damage mage gloves
Vengeance wrap pattern.
That makes for 3 drops out of 10 runs for a 30% drop rate on epic items.
Keep in mind our raids have a 2 hour time limit, we start invites at 9:30 server and end at midnight.
Has anyone else had any luck with these trash drops? Due to recent buffs they seem pretty strong.

On average I would say I see 2 or 3 drops per week on a full clear.

Not going to see many trash drops if you can only get as far as maiden.
But ya, I'd say about 3-4 trash epics drop with a full Kara clear. Most of the trash drops are pretty good, with the expection of a +nature damage ring that's practically worthless.

Yep, I think we are averaging about 2 per run through.

Last night we had a shoulder piece "of fiery wrath" gear that was +55 fire damage.
Our fire mage seriously considered it. It has +26 more damage than what she was wearing.
That also seems to be quite a lot of trash drops IMO. I didnt' expect to see that many.
I have only seen one world BoE epic since tbc came out but it was a good one. Druid staff that went for a bundle in a swap for a HoE bs recipe.

We see 3-4 per clear on average. We had 2 on Monday alone and all we did was the Chess event and Prince. Unfortunately (for me anyway being a Hunter) I've only seen Rogue or caster drops.

Yeah in certain slots (boots, wrists, back) fire wrath gear is very tempting if you just want pure dps.

We get 2-3 per week I'd say clearing all trash (though still 2 bosses to kill :P)

I've seen the rogues gloves drop 3 times in the last 9 weeks. Always at the start of the corridor leading up to Maiden.
Had a pair of fire damge cloth gloves drop last night. Not as good as my spellfire gloves. The frost mage took them case he ever respecs.
I'd say we usually get at least 2-3 random epics over the week.

That doesn't follow - remember the respawns. It's probably not far off to guess that a raid that is clearning kara may kill the same amount of trash as one that keeps wiping - so long as the latter isn't being slow and wiping on trash, of course :-)

We're going to finish the opera tonight so we'll be clearing up to the curator at least. I think we can down him as well it does not look as tough as some other battles.

Interesting. One of our warriors got Boots of Elusion from trash between Moroes and Maiden two nights ago. Our first (and so far only) epic from trash in a short time in Karazhan.
Us so far:
Attumen down with 9, Failed Moroes all week
Attumen down, failed Moroes all week.
Attumen and Moroes down day 1, Maiden down day 2.

hmm ^^
curator is harder than anything you have seen in karazhan so far ^^
he is the stepping stone to the hard bosses.
difficulty would be : anything till curator < curator < anything after curator ^^
so good luck and have fun :)
ps : do i smell a curator thread opening soon ? ^^

We cleared Prince and Illhoof last night, and so far this week we've had 4 epic BoE's drop. (two for warriors, the rogue's gloves and some cloth holy damage thingy).
Mind you, we have the bad habit of one-shot bosses / wipe on trash, lol.

I disagree, and i only do so from a healing priests point of view. Moroes is way harder than Curator. After keeping a mob shackled the entire encounter, keeping garouted (sp) people alive, and also keeping the MT/OT alive a curator kill is a breath of fresh air. He is even nice enough to give you a chance to dreamless sleep, shadowfeign, pot etc etc while getting full mana regen. It may be a hard to learn, but i'll take curator over moroes anyday.

Both our Kara groups did well last night. Group 1 had a trash purple and the +118 healing pants (BoE). K2's first run (attumen and a trial clear to moroes) and we got Ritsyn's and also the BoE Lightning Crown... good night overall.

We had our worst night for BoE epics last night. We cleared up to and including curator with nothing dropping.
That said, we seemed to get a massive amount of BoE greens (about 20 i think), so us enchanters in the party where well happy.

Do I understand correctly that trash drops are epic items that drop from trash mobs in raid content?

In this context, that's what people are referring to - although the same trash also drops plenty of blues and greens.

Yup--trash in Karazhan has the chance to drop greens, blues, and purples. Pretty random though. We cleared from start through Shade last night and I don't think we got a single blue or purple. Other nights we've gotten three in the same amount of time. I did walk away with several greens though.

Cool, thanks. If drops like these are at all prevalent, would it be feasible for a newly raiding group of players to jump right into Kara with basically quested greens & blues?

Well, it would, but you wouldn't be making it easy for yourselves. It would help a lot to have some of the better stuff from the lvl 70 5-mans (though Heroic gear is not necessary).

Yeah, I wouldn't want to go in to Karazhan planning to farm the trash in hopes of getting some blue and purple drops. I tend to view them as mere added bonuses that are nice to get along the way, so you're better off getting geared up to start knocking down the bosses, and get your loot that way.
Although I would love to get my hands on the Zierhut's Lost Treads still . . .

Altaris, Trash can drop a set of BoP purples, or a bunch of boe greens/blues. Some of the purples are VERY class spec specific. There's a fire mage belt, or frost mage gloves (at least I think they're gloves). A nature damage shammy ring (unless your moonkin like spamming wrath) etc. We've sharded the darn fire/frost pieces many of times because the wrong type of mage is with us.
I would rather have seen them drop more generic +damage loot.
My rogue has the wrost luck... Since my guild has a lack of tanks, my druid is some times required to come in to finish up a run... since one of our tanks has to get up early for school. I can't get the grips of deftness... only drops when I'm on my druid... who has attuman's gloves.
The inner rogue in my cries when we shard them.
