I've had this problem before. I have been playing World of Warcraft for about 8 months now and just started encountering this problem in the last month.

First I played WoW without UI customization and mods for the first few months but it kinda got harder as I leveled up more and more ( Raids etc.). So I began downloading mods such as FuBar and some other hunter mods.

After I downloaded the mods and UI stuff I was able to play for a week or two, but one day I tried to log on and it kept on coming up with the "corrupted data file" message. So of course I turned to the repair and it had to revert to an early version and that lead to reinstalling WoW and my BC CDs again. So I do need assistance on this because after I re-installed WoW I didn't install mods for another month and everything ran fine, but as soon as I tried to download the mods again the game came up with the corrupted data file message again.

So all assistance to the problem would be great appreciated.

Are you installing any mods that are .exe?
Never use exe files.
Just installing lua files in the addons folder should not be messing up your game files.
Don't install any mod packs, download and install mods individually. If a mod pack has a mod you like and can not find, download that pack and extract just that particular mod from the zip(hopefully it hasn't been modified for that pack).
Some mod packs are in exe form, while some of them are excellant (MazzelUI), do you really want to trust that all pack authors are legit with the number of hackers out there, just waiting to rob your characters?

But really the only thing I can think of is <1> virus or <2> .exe that is modifying your game files for some reason.
Never, never run and addon that is in exe format, you are asking for trouble.

EDIT: OH, another question, Are any of the mods skin or sound changing, that install into your data folder?

My 2 cents anyway,

Alright, thanks for the input Iceshard. Well I was able to re-install again, before I couldn't cause of some dumb Installer_tome.mpq or something. Of course I had to wait like a day after all my virus tests and stuff nothing came up and I re-installed and it worked. I'll check if the mods I'm getting are .exe but I don't think that was the problem because I was using fizzwidget mods. I'm pretty sure they're not .exe's and I think they're all up to date too. I'll try and survive without the mods for now but I hope I can fix this problem so that raids can be a wee bit easier.

There's really no way a LUA/XML based mod can corrupt your data files, they simply don't have access to the kinds of controls needed to be able to do that. It's rather strange though, I can't really think what it could be.

Obviously run a full anti-virus/spyware scan on your system, worth a try.

Also forget about any mod that changes ingame models.

I run alot of fizzwidget mods, nearly all of them. No problems for me.
Have you done a complete scan and defrag of your HD lately?
Maybe having some bad sectors popup and corrupting your files.

Yeah, I do a complete scan every time I start up my computer...Yeah but the defrag probably haven't done that in a while I'll try that out.
