Best of both worlds?

Is it possible to hit level 70, get top level with Aldor and get their items,
then go through the agonizingly long process of switching to Scryer and doing the same?
Yes, I know it may not be worth all that trouble, but if you switch sides do the items you received from your former faction still work?
Has anyone tried this?

you can still produce the crafted items for which you baught recipies.

but you can no longher equip the items you baught since they have reputation requirements.

also the process is realy realy tedious. better level a alt in that time and get the other fraction whit the other char ^^
