Hi Guys,
I played WoW until last Sept, had a lvl 60 Dwaf Priest and a few others lvl10-30, I got so infuriated at lvl 60 that I practically couldn't do anything but raids with my priest, unless someone else was there to hold my hand, and started to find them extremely dull aswell so I tried playing other classes and couldn't be bothered to do the whole leveling thing again at the time, so, extremely annoyed with Blizzard for making the post 60 game rubbish for me after hours of throughly enjoyable leveling, I cancelled my subscription.
Ever since I've had a nagging want to get back into it, certainly with Burning Crusade coming out in the mean time.
Now that feeling starts to get stronger as I get bored with the games that have entertained me since.
Is BC worth re subscribing for?
Is there anything else cool thats changed in the last few months.
Is WoW dieing?
Is it completely Mod and Macro based these days?
Do I resubscribe?

1) BC was worth it to me. If you're going to come back, you'd gimp yourself by not purchasing the expansion.
2) Lots of cool new things. Sockets. Flying mounts. Arena. Lots more, too.
3) WoW is not dying. But seeing as how it's summer, probably less people around ATM. End of October will see an increase in players.
4) Not mod and macro based, unless you're a raider. I've always been a bit of a purist and only use addons like Titan for coords, Threat meters and Event managers. I do just fine w/out all the other crap.

I'm sure you can now get a 10 day free trial for the BC at the WoW site. it might be worth trying that, and now doubts you will want to resubscribe after 10 days.

just do it. there's no harm in resubscribing for a few months. if you don't enjoy it - cancel again.
I'm sure BC will add so much to your game play. I've yet to reach the lvl, but I find that it's increased my game experience quite a bit. Certainly you'll be able to enjoy lvl'ing to a 70 now. I haven't noticed WoW dieing, like everything it has it's moments of massive popularity, but if you just look at these boards - there's tons of people still playing!
Give it a go. Nothing bad can come from it, right?

Actually, due to changes in the API, things are a lot less mod-dependant than they used to be- you can't automate any actions any more, so you can't fall asleep mid-instance without people noticing.
TBC is very shiny indeed. Being turned into the Big Bad Wolf never fails to raise a smile.

well, if you found endgame boring at level 60, things will not change much at lvl 70 ^^ there are some quests, 5 man instances etc, but in the end it is back to raiding.
Do you want to buy the game for a month of leveling and questing, only to find out that you still dont like raids ?
IMO there is no point in playing the middle game if you dont enjoy the endgame ( or 1000's of twinks which would be doing middle game over and over again, only to find out that it comes to the same result. )

Cheers Guys, I didn't really expect anyone to tell me not to but just wanted to confirm just in case.
I might just sign back on for the Big Bad Wolf experience!
If anyone is on Aggramar and looking for a lvl 60 Dwarf Priest for their guild then look out for Aidie LFGuild soon!
Sadly, really excited to get back into it now - after the 6 hours of patch downloads!!!

yah i'm with twoflowers on this one. if you didn't like endgame before, i seriously doubt your opinion will change once u hit 70 with tbc. but if you've got the itch to play and have the lil bit of cash to burn, go for it. what can it hurt.

Take your point Twoflower, but I already own the game so it's £9 (subscription) + BC, but I expect I'll level a damagedealer rather than play too much with my Priest, I wasn't saying the end game was rubbish, just that it's rubbish for Holy Priests as you can't go out into the world to find the more secret asspects of the game or grind without someone coming with you and just bashing heal with the odd renew gets dull in raids, I get the impression dmgdealers never tire of trying to get most dmg in a raid!

You could simply respec to shadow and gear up.
Shadow priests do quite well these days

You might try switching to shadow if you are going to abandon him anyway, you'll be chewing thru solo content like it's nothing. I find my shadow priest very fun, and they've done some things that make shadow priests desireable in raids.
Otherwise go ahead and level a new race, the new starting zones are pretty cool, still the same old game between 20 - 50, but you've been out of it for a while so you can probably find a few things here and there that they've changed to keep it fresh for you.

You don't have to raid once you've hit 70 and are looking for better gear. PVP! Arena can be very fun and challenging.

Yeah you don't necessarily have to raid for great gear anymore once the new arena gear is released (or even with the current stuff) - it gives non raid ppl access to high level gear . . . there's flying mounts (including a long rep grind for a netherdrake mount). Heroic (xtra tough) 5 man instances. New raid though not 40 man raid content. New lowbie zones and some new lowbie content.
But as others have said in he end its still endgame - though I believe there seems to be alot more available to do now.
...and suddenly shadowpriests are in demand. You can kill and heal....

To the OP:
Nothing in WoW has really changed other than the options you have to spend massive amounts of time grinding at the end level.
To get "teh lootz" you still have to rep grind, raid, and pvp for massive amounts of time.
Your first entre into Outlands will be very exciting because you will get a lot of gear really easily through quests that will instantly render the raid gear you had pre-TBC obsolete.
There are a lot of cool new abilities for most classes when you get to level 66.
You will be made rich fairly easily just by questing and grinding in the Outlands.
So there is some excitement to it, obviously. The 5 mans are pretty cool and are not too drawn out...some of them you can finish in 45 min to 1 hr if you have a decent group. The gameplay and graphics are very clean and polished. The zones are unique and beautiful. Blizzard did a really good job on it.
However, it sounds like your overall dissatisfaction at 60 was with the massive amounts of grinding required at the end levels, which hasn't really changed a bit, other than giving you more options on how to do that grinding.
