Just a search for some advice about characters and what not, here goes. So I have a 58 warrior who I've recently found out I despise. The only reason I was actually playing him was to get my mount then be 60. So here is my dilemma. I have a 35 druid who I enjoy a lot. Also a 19 rogue currently hitting it up in he battlegrounds, I enjoy him as well maybe slightly more than the druid. So what should I do? I know that you can't say you will prefer x just wondering what the generally opinion is.

Thanks,

Moncai

Here's some of my experience (limited it may be)

I would say go for whatever you find fun! If you are enjoying your rogue at the moment play him. if you get the inkling to go back to your warrior, do that.

Personally, my 55 rogue is great fun! I have enjoyed the last 55 levels immensly! Whereas I found my warrior... boring. I reackon simply play whatever you find fun. When i was leveling my rogue I had got a "little" bored at about 45 so I started a priest, while they are good fun as well it wasn't long before I went back to my rogue.

With a warrior you'll never have much trouble finding a PUG to instance with but other than that once you go rogue, you'll never go back!

So in short, try leveling your rogue, once you hit about 30 you'll love the rogue to bits! (oh and don't go combat swords... so boring, might as well be a naked warrior! assasin or sublety is the only rogue)

Hope this helps

Whatever you do don't delete any of them. Part of the fun is being able to have all those different characters available. My main is a Warlock and is great fun, but I have an alt rogue, shaman, mage, hunter and paladin and they all see playtime at some stage and they're all fun for different reasons. Rogues are good fun, so maybe play that for a while, then level up the druid a bit and so on. Play whatever strikes your mood?

I have a love-hate relationship with my warrior (70).

I love to hate him, but have to love him.

The "idea" of a warrior I really like, but the shortcomings drive me insane (like the complete self-nerfage known as protection spec).

I have "shelved" him more times than I can count, each time vowing to never go back... then I go back... heh.

The warrior is easily "wow hard mode", so getting fustrated can be quite common.

I never tried a warrior, but I have a 69 feral druid.

I think it'll be better to play a druid. If you gear up properly, you can tank like a warrior, and one-shot clothies too :P. Plus, you get to be able to heal yourself too. A druid has lots of survivabilty. In bg, it's great, really ez to get to top 2 in WSG from my experience.

Also, in BC, tons of feral druid gear=BIG Bonus

Since you got a high lvl warrior, It's good to get him to 70 first. Prot warriors are the best at tanking.

One thing I've found out about WoW is that the grass always seems greener. Every class envies something about another. Warriors, just seem to be the most envious. :)

Honestly, there's no "best" class in WoW. To put it differently. It's not the class you suck the least with, but the class you enjoy the most. That is most important. I say that because I don't suck at any class in this game. However, there are some that I get bored with more than others.

If being a warrior just isn't your bag. Then, by all means, play a different class. Playing different classes certainly gives insight into the strengths and weaknesses of each one. Which will make PvP, as well as PvE, more enjoyable.

Ultimately, every character will eventually become stale. It's the nature of the beast.

I focused on one character only, in the race to "join" the 70th level players out there, only to find I was so bored at times with the same character, same class, same routine in questing/grinding..even at 65th level (which it is right now) I was getting so close to wanting to delete it and roll some alts and 'move on'.

But that mood passed - I rolled a bunch of alts, horde and alliance, all differnet types, and found that all I needed was a break from time to time; I could still play the game, but just with different characters.

There is no need to delete, nor even this lesser but equally foolish error - selling all the characters items as you 'retire them' - just leave them as they are, farm up some major gold (if you don't have it yet),
and then twink out some toons of all different types that you might like to play - just 5-10 gold per toon is enough to really kickstart them - just try different things.

Even though I don't have that 70th level yet, I have at least 7 or 8 different toons of all different levels, classes, both factions - and it's fun - no matter what mood i'm in, one of them will appeal to me at that time.

But when you can have so many toons - do NOT delete your 58th for any reason - one of these days you'll feel like tanking/slashing again, and someone will call you for some killer instance or something - and again, the mood may pass like it did for me.

I agree with everyone saying not to delete your warrior.

My first character to 60 was my warrior, but now my main is a druid. I have a hunter, rogue as 'main alts.' Now, I'm leveling up a warlock with my brother who's leveling a shadow priest. My advice is the same, play what makes you the happiest. For me that was a feral druid.

Everyone has their favorite class/spec, just play around and find yours. There really isn't a 'wrong' choice, and when you do make a choice, it doesn't have to be final. The game will go on and you can always change your mind.

Why do you despise your warrior? What are you doing with him, exactly?

I switched mains from warrior to warlock for a number of reasons, not the least of which was that our guild at the time was chock full of warriors and low on DPS. I also found I liked the DPS role a great deal.

However, recently, I've gone back to leveling my warrior, who is now 64. I respecced her arms and am having a blast soloing my way through TBC content. It's a very different kind of playing -- the up close and personal kind as opposed to pet-dot-nuke. In fact it's the differences I enjoy the most.

It might help to know why you hate playing it.

As said above, definitely keep all your toons. I have two mains; a rogue and a priest. The rogue is great for PvP, but when raiding, I use the priest. Tough to PvP with a disc/holy priest compared to a rogue :) And for some reason, I hate using the rogue in raids; I love being a healbot.

WoW is a game => Games are supposed to be fun => Have fun.

Reagardless of what toon you play, you will probably get a little bored with it over the long haul. Nothing wrong with playing alts or starting a new main to keep things fresh. Having alts also helps you keep your rested bonus going on your main.

I wouldn't delete them though, you never know when you might feel the itch to try them again or need a toon to farm some gold, destroy campers, etc.

If for no other reason, keep the character for its profession. Need some gems? Take out a miner you never play. Getting a lot of green BOE's? Send to your enchanter. Need a bag? ... Well, you get the picture.
