how is herb in the post 2.1 game? When i spec my priest back to holy (tonight), and won't be able to grind efficiently anymore, i want a proffesion that pays decent, and can be done efficiently in a helpless holy build.
I posted a thread with this same title prior to the 2.1 release, but it was an unknown at the time... it should be settled out now. I know on my server mana pots have dropped from around 25g a stack to 10g a stack...
Thanks for any comments,
Barry

On my server BronzeBeard ( PVE) I have been using Herbalism as my main money maker. I didn't level it up until I hit 55, and I was stuck at below 100 gold usually. Once I started leveling it up though I have been making almost 75-100 g a day from 4 hours of levelling and picking herbs when I see some in the Outlands. Felweed sells for about 18g a stack, and Terocone for about 28 g. Ancient Lichen, and Dreamfoil sell for between 12- 20 g a stack too. Combine this with selling whatever cloth you pick up along the way, and you are making mad money daily.

I haven't seen much of a difference in my herbing profitability. I can still get about 30-40gold in a 10min sweep of Terokkar. I make a point to turn on a timer from the moment I take off from the Aldor bank, stopping when I land at the mailbox...and it is usually 3-4 gold/min worth of herbs....sometimes it is really bad, and I only get 1-2 gold/min.
Terocone is still a big seller (1.5g each), as is felweed (95s each). Dreaming glory is ~0.5g each, and you'll get motes of life (1g each) and the occasional fel lotus, which have actually gone up in price, I think because more people are using flasks.
Seriously, herbing is like walking along the road where banks have blown up...just pick the money up off the ground.

Herbalists can also double farm the Bog Lords and related mobs in the SW of Zangarmarsh - they have a chance to drop good selling grey vendor trash, a small chance of herbs, a small chance of Motes of Life, but when they are dead you can skin them. One of the few places to farm Ancient Lichen outside of an instance - I think they are about a 2% chance to drop that when skinning them.

Thanks guys, I'm going to level herb then... i guess I don't really need a guide, just go to low level places to start, and work my way up, right?
Thanks,
Barry
