I finally made it through over the weekend (L58 Pally). All I can say is that it is darn impressive. I think I just stood there for several minutes just taking it all in, esp the sky.

So far I've only seen half of Hellfire Penensula and Shatt City but I'm definitly impressed.

Grats PTM! I did the same thing, also as a 58 pally, just a week ago.

I was in a group with a 65+ mage one day and he created a portal to Shatt. Not knowing what I was doing I clicked on it and BAM I was in Shatt. Couldn't believe it!! But with him being the leader of the guild I'm in, he was very helpful and took me straight to get the FP and to the Inn so I could set my hearthstone. So now I hearth to Shatt and use the portals to IF, SW, and Darn every time I need to skip around.

I've flown to Honor Hold and another area of Hellfire, as well as the area of the Portal. I had another 65+ member of my guild get my back as we rode to another Alliance camp in Hellfire so I could get the FP and level my First Aid skill. Now I go there often to buy 20-slot Mining bags to sell on AH.

I'm level 46, by the way, and I think Shatt and Hellfire are awesome. I just stay inside the city/camps so I don't aggro everything. I can't wait until level 58 so I can enter the Portal in Blasted Lands and actually level up in Outlands. I can't wait to check out all of Outlands!

There are 4 levels between me and my first footsteps into Outlands. The anticipation is killing me. I know it's about 2 to 3 weeks of play time, but I really just want to lock myself in a room and play until I drop to get there.

And congratulations playthemall, it sounds so awesome!

I did what Ottorfnam did and started killing mobs and running Hellfire Ramparts at level 56, made 56 to 58 go really quickly too. Than grabbed all the level 58 quests and blew thru 59 and 60. I am letting my main get rested XP for 61 - 70 while I level an alt.
But the 1st trip thru the Dark Portal when I hit 58 was still awesome and I still love the sky in outlands.

Gratz playthemall ...

It's definitly nice to have an escort. I had a L67 Hunter and a 59 rogue with me as we rode in. We still got ganked 3 times in a little over two hours. Joys of a PvP server!

Actually, the 50-58 grind seemed to go much faster then the 40-50. I'm now only 4 bars short of 59 after only a few hours in the outlands.

Its been a long ride 16 days played spread over 13 months. Painfully slow but I have several alts I play as well with friends. If I didn't have alts I'd probably be to L70 by now or have gone insane.

Next, the Epic Charger then on to L70 (hopefully in less then 13 months ).

Ditto, PTM, I forgot to give you the grats you deserve! :)

You guys wouldn't believe all the screenshots I've taken just flying through Hellfire, especially of the sky, me against the sky, etc. :D

Well it's a good thing you have higher level friends for the epic charger mount pally quest, you'll need 'em and about 500g as well :-)
I hit 60 last Sat AM and had my charger that Sunday afternoon thanks to friends - w/out them I would still be riding my level 40 mount at level 61 ... lol

I should have said "PTA" above as your name, I assume, is PlayThemAll rather than what I originally thought, PlayTheMall. ;)

Definitely if you are going to do more end game stuff read the threads on getting xp from mobs / instances before doing the quests. I believe a lot of time saved if you do it right.

I didn't on my 70 mage and am paying for it now. My lock is close to getting to outlands and I won't make the same mistake again.

yea its nice going to OL for the first time. It's gonna be a fun run to 70. Quest there is definatly better when it comes to reward and variation. Luike trampolines, bombming missions.

No problem, and you are correct, it's PlayThemAll. I didn't realize that I could use embedded caps at the time I created the ID, DOH! Maybe one of the powers that be can change it for me. Nudge nudge say no more.

I actually have everything I need (less 5 arcanite bars) I've been monitoring the AH and grabbing stuff when the it's underpriced. I started this around L57. As far as a group goes, So far I have myself (10/40/0 spec), a soon to be 60 rogue, a 67 hunter and a 70 Lock that are more then willing to help me get my mount. I dinged 59 last night. One more to go. WooHoo!

Congrats PMA. I too was in awe the first time I went through.

Regarding the Name Change: If you can provide a good reason, Elly has been known to change user names. As you can see from my 'handle', not only can you embad caps, you can also have spaces :D

PM her and ask you have nothing to lose. Click here (http://wow.incgamers.com/forums/member.php?u=359). The send Elly a PM option is on the right.

yeah outlands is very impressive visually ... and gold, and greens & even sometimes blues drop like crazy at times...however, be warned, the mobs there are worthy of being there, they are really tough!

If you are below 58th level and want to get into the Outlands, just
go to any major city, and say in general chat (a few times to make sure you're seen/heard) "LTB port to Shattrath - will pay 2 gold" and I guarantee that a mage of the appropriate level would be happy to earn 2 gold for 10 seconds of their time - works for me on every toon i've run.
Anytime I get an alt, I get HQ'ed in Shattrath ASAP.
The portals there go to all the major cities of your faction (well all factions but you can only go through yours) and it makes a great travel hub - sets your hearthstone to an inn in Shattrath (at less than level 60 it doesn't matter if you pick the Aldor or Scryer inns - you can't choose them offiicially as the "one and only" choice - so just pick either one and make it your home regarding your hearthstone.

You get to eliminate boat / zeppelin travel between continents so much more. Plus, you get to see the mangificent Shattrath and outlands early!

just don't go outside the city,
or every mob within line of sight (seems like) will be be drawn to you as their snack! lol

I've run from Shattrah to Zangarmarsch as a L26 Draenei Warrior. Didn't aggro a single thing. Even stuff that was in MY line of sight (so I could stay away from them). But I've always had a good feel for aggro ranges...

I was sure I was gonna die, so I did it nekkid off course. All that stripping for nothing
