I dived in the water and found that my up and down keys (Insert and Delete) didn't work. After drowning, I checked my key bindings, and there is no listing for selecting keys for up and down! How do I get this control back?

you could just use the mouse to aim yourself (up or down) and move forward, that's what I do (I'm still having trouble being comfortable with the idea that you can't do that on flying mounts... but I'll get used to it once i get mounted I'm sure).

How did you get down if you don't have key bindings to move up and down (and didn't use the mouse)?

I killed a mob that was in the water while I was on shore, then right-clicked to loot it. That took me underwater.

uh.... thats a eeeeasy question. Go to keybiddings and hit default settings.

X is Swim/fly Down

It's toggle sit/stand if you are on dry land and changes when you are swimming/flying

Because you just have to move forward when you're pointed in the right direction. There aren't up/down controls - just point up and move forward, and you'll go up. Same works for down.

If you really get stuck, jump - it moves you upwards.

Truthfully, I hate swimming compared to flying, since you can't just hold down the jump key to go up - you have to keep tapping it :(

You must have click-to-move enabled then...

Yeah you can, it's the same as swimming.

You can depress both buttons and push forward / backwards on your mouse to go up and down (you just fly up - instead of lifting straight up as when you press the spacebar).
