So I get in a group and we go to Zul'Farrak. This is my first time in Zul, so I’m looking forward to it.
Our group
Shadow Priest
Rogue
2x Hunters (me - lvl 49)
Warrior
Pretty good group, so I can't complain.
Once we get inside the damn warrior decides he say's "going to eat dinner"
What the heck, he just leaves his character sitting down and so we continue.
The Rogue decides to become leader and stuns a few trolls to keep things in balance.
The problem though, he was start attacking rather than having the hunters pull and/or pets tanks.
We never needed healing but the rogue was getting thrashed. Of course we've never seen a rogue trying to act like a tank ;).
The priest was good though, even took on a few trolls.
We'll after sometime the Rogue is starting to say "if such and such drops I'm going need." or would take need on a box since he can open it.
He eventually gets himself and the priest killed and the other hunter and I clean up and wait.
We get more text garbage from this fool.
So we get to Gahz'rilla and he says "I get the dagger." We all decide that it's a greed item.
We'll Gahz'rilla Fang does drop and he does go greed but I get the dagger. We'll all hell breaks loose and start ripping me. Of course the priest points out that the rogue is hearing a helmet with +48 healing.
He eventually disbands the group and hearths home. We all do the same since the group is done.
After Gadgettown I get more abuse, so I just ignore him and go on.
I can’t wait to see what happens the second time ;)
Thanks

Yeah, i hate pugs, the other day we got this pug going for ST, well a 70 warrior decides he'll help us out and run us through, so we only have 4 people, but hte warrior is like we don't need anyone else, i'm a 70, then this rogue whispers me and asks if he can join, i said sure and invited him. Keep in mind i'm doing this for my hunter quest. Anywho, as we're going through he starts skinning EVERYTHING iwthout asking if anyone else needs it, so i said 'hey i'm a skinner, i want to skin too"
Does he stop? No, now that i'm skinning he races to get there before me and skins EVERYTHING. He whispered me if i was a LW, i said no..he said "let me have your leather" i said "no" so he starts ninja'ing the leather even worse than before. Finally i got PISSED and said 'you know you can let me skin too" he said "yeah your right, i could let you, but i need it more than you so i'm sorry i am going to skin them all" then right after that he said "if X item drops from this boss i'm going to need on it, i need it" i said "no" and kicked him from the gruop (i'm usually not that mean but i was fuming)
So he goes up to the boss and starts hitting it stealthed thinking that we're going to attack right afterwards. And someone in our group almost did but we said not to, so we all just sat there and watched him die. I mean the way i look at it, is i didn't even have to let him go, i didn't want all the skins just some of them. I'm not a greedy person and would have gladly shared or even let him have them all HAD HE ASKED. But nope, he wanted to be a jerk about it so i was a B**** about it .
He whispered em after he died and said "you know, i'd learn how to run an instance" and all i said was 'you know, i'd learn how to not be a ninja /ignore"
The rest of the gruop got a kick out of it so it was all good.

ST is the first place i stealth ran =P My 50 Rogue and friends 70 Rogue. Stealthed right to Morphaz and beat him in mere seconds. /flex
Unfortunately it gets worse as the gear gets better. Did Sethek Halls...my 67 shadowpriest(healing the whole time) and a 70 shadowpriest, 2 warrs and a hunter.
Well the last boss drops a cloak that is +healing. And the 70 priest rolls need >.< How are you gonna make me heal the entire instance than you roll against me on a +heal item.
None the less, my 67 Priest is now 2 bars from 68, and is 25disc/35holy(38) so I can't kill anything :( But i do miss healing, fun to be doing that again.

I find no fault in the 70 SP rolling need on a healing item. Just because he wasn't healing *that* instance doesn't mean he doesn't heal other times. (And usually it's better sense to let the lower level do the healing - less resists :p )
As a druid I tank all the time in instances, and roll need on kitty dps items, because that's what I do when I'm *not* in an instance.

Huh? Isn't it common sense that you roll on offspec items only if nobody else needs them?

I almost ALWAYS get bad groups on my DPS/tank chars on any instance pre-TBC... Yet when I am healing the group does either perfect, or nearly perfect (Maybe 1 wipe.)

I've soloed the entirety of ST on my 70 hunter - including all the bosses, and the 2 dragons at once. The hardest part is the packs of 5-6 dragonkin in the central circle. I took em out anyway to skin them. Just in quest / few instance blues. So don't sweat it, you can do it yourself :)
The new mend pet will make it even easier.

Nobody expects a priest to stay shadow forever at 70.

I have been mostly fortunate with pugs. It's amazing how good pugs can be sometimes. Just bail from the bad groups before you start. You can usually tell.
One run through ZF there was this paladin who rolled on all the caster stuff, always made some lame excuse, and he rolled need on Zum'rah's Vexing Cane, beat me out. I can't understand fricking idiots. You can tell they rarely group when they cannot resist any blue drop.
Alliance has lots of paladins who aren't tanks, aren't DPS, aren't healers, and think they have a right to anything they touch.

he's already 70, and he is shadow spec, therefor the Holy spec Priest should of had first priority.

The second priest was shadow, too.
I run into this a lot as a druid - I'm planning on switching to feral (just to learn how to play it - I've always either done balance or resto), but I really can't until I gear up first. I have re-specced for a few runs in a row to full resto and I feel perfectly justified in rolling on a balance item since that is what I usually play, even though I'm resto for that moment.

They were both off-spec.
