Dragonscale LW Quest

Can anyone tell me the best place to get the worn dragonscales from?

I've killed whelps, dragons from here to kingdom come, skinned the socks off them and not one has dropped a worn dragonscale, let alone the 10 I need...grrrr

Ive tried the AH, and asked all guild members with no success.

Please someone must have an idea?

all dragonkin whelps drop them, plus some of the lower dragons.
just check wowhead or thottbot for which mobs (wowhead has a handy 'skinned by' section)

i have been grinding dragons in swamp of sorrows and the drop rate is pretty good. they range from lvl 41-45

try the ones in burning steps not the blackdragonkins but the whelps

UBRS is a good place for all sorts of scales - and a group of 4-5 70s should be able to get through most if not all of it.

And they drop on the Auction House fairly often :)

dont think UBRS is going to be much use for someone on a dragon scale leather working quest

Cheers guys. I went into Burning Steppes and got a huge amount of XP killing dragonny things. After a complete days work I had 3 worn dragonscales.

Next day I looked on the AH and 20 were for sale at 15g buyout so I nabbed them quick. Sod the cost lmao.

(I sold the 13 leftovers back on the AH for 10g so not so bad).

try the Sunken Temple Instance for worn dragonscales. It is a skinning paradise, especially the large round room with all kinds of Dragonfolk.

Yeah I thought of Sunken Temple when someone mentioned it above but 2 things put me off:

1. The mobs there are elite but lower level than me so no bonus side effect of gaining XP.
2. I've been there before solo a few lvls ago. Im still only lvl 56 and soloing them I figured would still be hard - especially given nr 1 above.

around lake mennar in aszhara. lots of drops from blue dragonkin!

It's been a while, but I'm pretty sure I just killed dragonkin in Badlands for about 2 hours to get the scales I needed. Maybe I'm thinking of something else, but that's what I remember doing. I killed all the dragonkin and whelps in that area, but it only took a couple of hours.

Best place is Wyrmbog in Dustwallow Marsh. Just run around killing the 43-44 dragonkin. After about an hour and a half I will typically have a 20 stack of worn dragonscales.
