I was having some lag tonight so I logged off and rebooted my PC. I started the PC back up and clicked on the WoW icon to play, it came up that the link is missing. I searched my C Drive where the game is installed and its as if WoW never existed on my computer.
Dose anyone know what the course of this is? I guess I'll have to install again and will have lost all my mod settings. I just find it very weired.

After restart, did you log in under the same user name as before? You might have installed your WoW for one user only or something

I'm pretty sure it transfers over to your other user account as well. (I'm guessing you're talking like, Windows XP.)

If the installation wasnt set to be used by both accounts (It can be used under both reguardless, you just need to look for the .exe) the icon probably wouldnt have been on the desktop.
As for the disappearance, Ive never seen that happen before... If I had to take a stab in the dark I would say your HDD might be going bad. Im pretty clueless though. Is anything else messed up?

Everything els on the PC seems to be fine. When I look in the 'Add & Remove programs' folder you can see the whole 8 gig is there, just no longer on my c drive along with any of its folders.
At the moment I am going through the painfull process of installing it all again, if this happens again the PC will be heading back to Siemens for the 4th time (and its only 1 1/2 years old.) More than likely in a few more pieces than intended.
This brings me to another question. :ponder: can I just skip downloading the patches for the 1st WoW and move on to installing TBC?
and also, Thanks for the replies.

Yes. Don't bother downloading and applying any patches until after you've installed the game from all CDs available, original and expansion. Then start fetching the online updates. Else you'll simply be doubling over your own footsteps needlessly, the BC disks have all past data on them already.

Thanks for that advice.
I shall go right ahead with TBC after this final disc 5 on the 1st game.
