If a guild has 25+ raiders and kara on farm what is the next logical progression?

Mag or Gruuls, when does SSC come into play? I know most of the SSC attunement chain but what about the others?

Thanks!

Kara > Gruul's > Mag > SSC although you can pretty much try SSC and Mag at the same time from what I've heard.

You should probably be doing Gruuls before you finish Kara, once you finish Kara you should be working on Mag. One mags down go to SSC. Once you can down a couple of bosses there go to The Eye, skip Al'ar and down Void reaver for free epixs!

Can you guys give me a gruuls run down?

Difficulty of first boss compared to any boss in kara?

Do you need to be attuned? etc etc?

Sorry, i'm a nub at anything past kara, i've poured all my research/researches into just getting us this far.

High King Mulgar in gruuls lair is all about the pull, it will take a learning curve to nail it, then he is cake. Gruul is all about postioning your raid and people paying attention.

Yeah to be honest both fights are about the preperation rather than the actual fight themselves.

Gruul/maulgar are around Prince/Nspite/Nbane difficulty, just with 15 more people.

No worries now, the infighting has begun and progress will stop now. We almost made it to the prince before the drama began but not quite.

No more progression threads from me I fear. Probably a couple weeks of turmoil, see who /gquits and then we'll pick up the pieces and start again.

Just wondering, how long does a gruul or mag run take for properly geared (kara/heroics) players AFTER you get the first kill down.

Once you get the mechanics down, the entirety of Gruul's lair should take about an hour if you take your time. That even allows for a few wipes.

Sorry to hear about the guild problems Rgirty. Hope you get it all figured out.

And Mag is like Ony, four trash pulls and then fighting the dragon. So that can go as fast as 30 minutes once the guild knows how to do it. If we could only have our key people show up all at the same time, we might actually get there... We've had two serious looks at Mag and so far, the fight is again all about coordination.

Also, with mag and gruul, once you get the kill in you are done for the week? I guess it would sorta stink, take him out tuesday and wait a week.

Ours started before Curator.

People signing up for raids who don't want to go, but feel pressured.

People having to sit out because 12 people signed up and some needed classes didnt sign up, but are ready to go.

An officer who signs up, but then volunteers to sit out, leaves the guild and so do a few others who feel left out.

Guild leader who wants to remain 'casual' but still raid Karazhan, then fusses over nights of wiping, and nags people to bring lots of consumables.

We did 1-shot R&J for the first time and got our first kill on Curator last night though.

We have had no issues downing bosses, we had to do the big bad wolf a few times and maiden takes 2 tries but we normally down all the bosses we have tried in 1-3 shots.

We are stuck on the shade.

The problem is we have more dps than we can take. We are trying to make two groups but all the dps wants to be in the A group so that they can get better loot.

We are splitting the current raid group so that one isn't better than the other to try and compensate, not sure how that will help but we are going to try.

I understand your pain, rgirty.

We are currently running two teams, and mix them up regularly. Every week some people are moved between one or the other. We are also to the point where people are switched out for bosses they don't need so others have the opportunity to get loot. One of our officers has taken on the task of keeping a spreadsheet up to date with the information on who needs which boss.

Of course, that only works when people actually tell us what bosses they do need and once they get loot, which bosses they no longer need.

So far we haven't had too many complaints. And both teams now clear Kara. Used to be that the second team would leave Netherspite and Illhoof standing. We haven't done Nightbane on the second team yet, but that's mostly due only three people in the guild having the urn to summon him.

Uh, I think this is a big piece of news... From this thread:

http://wow.incgamers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=398733

After a lot of thought and deliberation, we’ve decided to remove the attunement requirements to enter Serpentshrine Cavern and Tempest Keep: The Eye. While many of our attunements in the Burning Crusade have been good progression checks, a few of the attunements have turned out to cause unnecessary stress on guilds either doing the content or attempting to do the content. With Black Temple and Battle for Mount Hyjal thriving, we want to encourage (rather than prevent) new guilds and raid groups to attempt Serpentshrine and TK. We are going to leave the current attunement quests in the game so that players can still engage in the challenge and the lore of those quests should they choose to. At a later point, we are considering adding a final reward step to those quests as well (that way those who have already completed them would not miss out on a *new* reward).

We’re listening to feedback from you guys constantly and your opinions are important to us. We want this game to be the best possible MMO experience for our players.

Enjoy Serpentshrine and Tempest Keep =)

my guild has kara on farm (except nightbane)
second group is flying thru it but they are stuck on shade (lack of dps i think)

so we have about 20 people well geared with kara epics, should we try gruul or go straight for mag/ssc now that the attunements have been dropped?

Go for gruuls first, you need the gear from him and gruul to stand any chance in SSC, aslo you will need practise with 25 man raiding.

Our K2 group has been incredibly well supported by the K1 group, including taking new members in the K1 group and experienced / geared members dropping down. I'm soon to get a hunter in 2 T4 in group and one of our lesser geared will join K1. Maximises progression (having 1 undergeared in a clearing group is sustainable) for both groups.

Erm, DO NOT attempt to go SSC before killing gruul. If you cant get gruul down, you've not really got a hope in hell of killing anything there.

Start gearing a mage tank for Maulgar - gladiator/high warlord or "...of stamina" gear is good.

For Gruul, start preparing ironshield pots and elixirs for your MT and OT.
Get them to start stacking +12 sta gems.
