sorry if i missed a previous post.
last night we hit mana tombs on heroic and did pretty well up to prince nexus. the group make up was prot war, holy priest, shad priest, mm hunter & frost mage. we had 2 wipes up to the prince on large pulls where we got a bit messy but thought we was doing pretty well, then on the prince i pulled and had the shadow priest with me as the mage and hunter took out the adds. they got swamped by adds and died then we wiped. second try round was every one on adds and then help me dps boss as they took they adds down. we got him to 50% and the priest went oom then we died. after thjat we tried to use fear on adds and just all out dps the boss and we was getting him to around 10% but just couldnt get him lower.
any ideas on how we can get this boss down ?

Yeah. Nuke two of the initial adds. Then let the third pop and sheep it. Then burn your cooldowns and nuke the next two adds fast (before the change into etherials) while dpsing the boss. Then everyone on boss. Fear, frost nova, and just heal through the adds. Nuke boss hard. Boss dies, grab loot, try and clear up adds.

So Talmar, your suggestion is to deal with the initial adds, and the first summoned adds and then nuke the hell out of the boss?
My attempt at shaffer was about like the OP.

We just nuked the adds fast and then the boss.

A me too post!
I've done MT heroic a few times now, as DPS and as healer. Generally, the way which seems to work is to take out the first set of lights and then go absolutely crazy on the boss, DPS like terminator in a strop. Damage taken by the party is bursty, healing will mostly be fast/inefficient casts. You need to grease that ratfondle son-of-a-murloc before everyone runs out of resources.
The big problem is that the adds are attracted to the healer like moths to a flame. A few things can help here, but the things I like most are...
Adds seem to cast a lot of fire and frost, if I am healing on my shammy, I drop fire and frost totems.
A second healing capable class in their healing gear can help with the initial nuking, and then act as a second healer, to spread the threat. This does mean that the other two DPS need to have a kick like a mule to kill the price, but it does seem to make the fight less stressful if it's giving you trouble.
Essentially, it boils down to the fact that there's no real finesse needed. You just unload everything into the boss as fast as possible after the first adds clear cycle. Of course, if someone does have an actual tactic for this fight that makes it less crazy, I'd love to hear it, if only out of curiousity. I have to say, however- I enjoy the craziness. This is one fight where absolutely everyone has to work hard, unlike some others (yes, I am thinking of you, Mr-last-boss-of-Steamvaults-heroic, where the healer can almost sleep through the whole thing :).

Well, you could take 2 people on permanent add duty. They aren't that hard to kill. Leave something with suitably high dps on the prince and he'll go down as well.

we also had our problems here, it helped us out when we placed our healer and casters in the corner where you fight the Prince. They didnt automatically get the adds attention after the adds came back from fear and the healer was the first thing they ran into. Else same tactics, nuke the first, fear the rest, boss down fast.
