I've been wondering this for a while. I've read alot of how ppl solo the low lvl instances. VC, WC, SFK, etc...even up to SM. But as a ShadowPriest lvl 50 I feel I can't even clear the stockade. Is that expected or am I doing things wrong? Perhaps priest isn't the class to use to farm instances. At least not until you are lvl 70 and going through VC. :/
Btw, got a paladin too, are they better at it? He's only lvl 39 though, not sure he can do any instance alone.
Any thoughts?
Thanks.

Survivability is low for a SP and handling multiples is an issue for the SP.
Killing things fast and VE while using fear is the trick here.

my s.priest at 60 could solo maraudon and lord roccor in BRD.
i tried doing LBRS but it was to tricky.
i suggest going and watching movies of people farming to get an idea how they do it. it helped me a ton.

Really depends on your gear too. I've found on my lock as a rule I could solo places 10-20 levels below mine, with the lower-level instances being easier to solo. For instance I was doing VC and WC at 30 and SM at 50 (with difficulty). Just going into VC now I can wand most stuff to death (at 70). I can solo LBRS as well. I would find suspect in your gear since my S Priest doesnt have difficulty with elites at least 5 levels below her own.

This is the stockades we are talking about, where mobs chain stun you. very hard to get amy spells with cast time off if your soloing in there, the other casters do it with aoe's.
i soloed both stockades and WC with level 50 shadow priest. Didnt like the stockades, just a personal feeling, ran WC several times for greens and blues to disenchant. I didnt have any issues in the stockades with mobs stunning though ...

Well the problem is that if priests run oom, they're very vulnerable and in order to survive you need a lot of mana.
The fact that Spirit Tap only works for mobs that give xp certainly doesn't help either.
On the other hand, paladins in plate are one of the best survivors and at lvl 48 my pally (http://armory.wow-europe.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Lightbringer&n=Galawyn) soloed Gnomeregan (with decent gear).
I also think that druids could be very good at soloing instances.
On the other hand, my rogue is horrible at it. Yes they have great burst damage but can't heal and are far too vulnerable to survive a sustained attack.
