View Full Version : Should a Tailor/Enchanter choose Aldor or Scryer?

Hi. I have an Affliction Warlock who is a tailor/enchanter, and in preparation for hitting Outlands, I've been reviewing the WoWwiki site for the comparison between Aldor and Scryer crafting recipes. From what I can tell (having no in-game experience of having been to Shattrath City, yet):

For Enchanters:
Neither Aldor or Scryer appear to offer any faction specific enchanting formulas. Just that the Scryers make it easier to train with them having trainers in the city.

For Tailors:
Golden Spellthread vs Mystic Spellthread. I can see the Mystic Spellthread being more useful to players, as well as myself as an Affliction warlock.

Now here is the crunch; Aldor offer the Flameheart Bracers (http://www.wowwiki.com/Flameheart_Bracers), Flameheart Gloves (http://www.wowwiki.com/Flameheart_Gloves) and Flameheart Vest (http://www.wowwiki.com/Flameheart_Vest), whereas Scryers offer nothing.

Even so, I'm a little inclined towards the Scryers. But I am a crafting freak, and I quite like having lots of patterns (even if I don't ever use them). So I'd like to ask... for you high level tailors out there, did you choose Aldor or Scryer, and why? And if you chose Scryer, did you miss not having the Flameheart set?

Thanks for the help.

Look at the shoulder enchant. Which do you prefer? The rest you can get from other crafters. The spellthread requires a nether, so you'll most likely have to pay for it, but Flameheart is easy to get. But since you like to have the recipes and you're aff, maybe go for aldor since it's more spelldmg and you get Flameheart.

I have two tailors -my main is scryer and my alt is aldor;)

I am a tailor/enchanter mage and I went Aldor. Having said that, I picked up Enchanting after the fact but I think my decision would still stand. I too, am a bit of a crafting freak so the patterns attracted me.

Of course, I have yet to make them and haven't been anywhere that requires FR gear in Outlands as yet. Who knows for the future though ...

Cheers ...
