I was playing some WoW yesterday and all of a sudden my PC did a hard shutdown. I was wearing headphones at the time, but my brother said he heard a click before it died so my first suspicion was the PSU (since I did not hear it, Im a little sceptic). Ill list the specs, what happens when I boot and what Ive tried already to fix it.

Specs:

3800+ X2 @ 2.4ghz (6 months old)
DFI Lanparty Ultra-D modded for SLI (1 1/2 year old)
2x1gb G.SKILL HZ memory
2x 7800GT (1 is 1 1/2 years old, dont know about the other)
Antec Truepower 2.0 550W (7 months old)

What it does:
When I hit the power button, all fans and drives spin up as usual. I get no signal to my monitor and the four red diagnostic lights on my mobo stay a solid red (indicating power was applied, detecting the CPU). There are no beeps.

This computer was moved to a new case 6 months ago and worked without a problem.

Steps Ive taken:
Double and triple checked power connections
Cleared CMOS with jumper
Unplugged computer and removed CMOS battery for 10 to 20 minutes
Removed both graphics cards and sound card.
Removed power from CD drive.
Swapped out the CPU with my older venice
Attempted to boot with no CPU at all

After all of these steps there is still no change. I can test the PSU in another computer but that computer is a whole lot less power hungry than the one that is giving me problems. I can also test the memory.

I dont have another computer to test the CPUs in, but the venice has been in a case on my shelf since I removed it and it was working fine.

Edit* Temps never get above 45C. All fans are still working properly.

Ordered from most likely to least: Motherboard, Graphics card, Ram, PSU.

Off the bat it sounds most likely to be the motherboard, that has for some reason or another has simply burnt out. Have you tried a substitute PCI graphics card in the computer, while the other cards are removed?

I do have a PCI card Im going to test and try out. Im not sure if it still works, but Im going to verify that in the computer Im posting on.

Since I last posted Ive disconnected all of the drives, tried to boot with no CPU, With CPU and 1 stick of RAM, and with CPU and no sticks of RAM.

If I dont get anywhere with the PCI card Im going to pull out the PSU and test it in my other computer, then with a meter.

So... so far it looks like the one thing Ive voided the warranty on is broken. If its the motherboard thats broken, Ill probably sell what works and go conroe...

Ouch. I hope the graphics card works. If you do switch to Intel, consider the $266 Q6600, got to love previously $700 technology mark downs; I really do think Intel is trying to demolish AMD's pricing base, hardly anything matches up anymore, everything on the processor market has slid to 30% of its price 12 months ago.

I tested the PCI card and it does work but it didnt change anything in my broken rig.

I posted my problem in another forum originally and it finally started to get some replies, they brought up the point that Antec did make a bunch of PSUs with low quality caps right around the time I replaced my other dead antec. Testing the PSU with a volt meter is going to be my next step.

I tested the voltages while it was hooked up in my rig and they were spot on.
