After having Karazhan and Gruul's Lair on farm, it seems there are 3 choices for our guild to progress:

Magtheridon, SSC...and Void Reaver?

What would you recommend?

Magtheridon then SSC

Voidreaver is just doable cus hes pretty ez (note: not a complete walkover, u still need the dps and concentration for it), Tempest Keep the Eye comes after SSC tho

I'd say try both for one night each and see how it goes. Mag is nice cause there's not much to clear but the fight is much more complex than Void Reaver, which is just another version of Gruul with 4 tanks instead of 2. (i.e. everyone has a personal responsibility to survive via intelligent movement and awareness)

Our guild decided that it was easier to get the players we needed for Void (4 tanks) than what we needed for Mag (4 hunters/warlocks, 4 tanks). Our first night at Void after only 3 (kinda rushed) attempts we got him to 29% after his enrage with basically all our melee and a third of our casters dead for most of the fight. (I did the math and if they'd stayed up, we'd have won easy)

We're going to try Void Reaver again tonight. Should probably kill him if we can keep our melee up through the damage and everyone reacts to the orbs faster. :D

weve just done him yesterday aswell, the trash before him (the bigger packs) are definately the hard part of that area.

for reaver itself, stay at max range, avoid pouding if ur melee, avoid bolts if ur ranged

if u die from a bolt u shud get gkicked

Interesting thought though...melee only take 1500 damage every 12 seconds or so...its EASILY healed through by one dedicated healer, so long as the melee keep decent health. They never have to run out and therefore are safe from being accidentally targeted by the bolts too. By doing this, you increase the damage your melee can put out a *lot*...first because they never have to run out...and second because they focus on their threat and damage dealing as opposed to running out every 12 seconds.

Melee should win the damage meters on this fight if you do it right. Note this only makes sense if you have 4-5 high dps meleers in your raid. Otherwise its not worth it.

Ur mistaken.

Its channeling for 3 seconds total, for 1500 a second, u dont want ur healers to keep healing thru it every 9 seconds for X amount of melee, along with the tanks

Did some reading on several forums and although you are correct that the pounding does ~1500 per second for 3 seconds, but if you have 2-3 melee and a shaman chain healing, its enough to keep them up the entire fight...and dramatically increases their dps. I've read at least 6 posters (usually rogues) from different guilds say that they stay in melee the whole fight and put out top dps.

If you have a well-geared shaman with specced chain heal, I suggest you try that strat. If not, there's another thing you can do:

His max melee range is ~18 yards, so you can stay at that range to melee, and when pounding is incoming take a few steps back, and then back in afterwards, reducing about 2-4 seconds of downtime from running in and out.

Of course if you just want to stack ranged dps, you can always do it that way. :P

As already mentioned the trash before VR is annoying, but the boss himself was easier than Mag. Go for both and then SSC.

Melee are always the top damage on Void Reaver if they are properly played, especially since they are easily healed, don't ever need to reposition, and have a lower agro threshold.
Don't move out for pounding unless you eat paint or only bring 5 healers to raids.

magtheridon, then void reaver, then ssc.

the eye and ssc are about equal in difficulty level. Void reaver is free loot though, so go and kill him asap.

Magtheridon first though, unless you wanna completely skip him, which i would not recomment.
