I don't know if this has been posted already or not, but I just noticed/realized this when grinding today. For any newer players who do groups, instances, etc. with rogues, here's a tip to avoid accidentally breaking crowd control on mobs. I'm sure most of you know this, but some don't and its quite helpful.
CC is color coded.
cheap shot is a cc move that lasts its entire duration ( usually) on mobs, so you can whack away on a temporarily imobile opponent. Gouge, sap, etc. break if the opponent takes damage.
These differences are collor coded into the 'cyclone' above the target's head.
Unbelievably I just noticed this while grinding today. A blue cyclone indicates that you can attack that target without breaking the CC manuever. Purple cyclones indicate moves that will be cut short if the target is attacked.
I also noticed, and may be wrong here, that when i retooled and put points in to fill up imp. gouge, the purple cyclone grew larger in size, indicating a longer duration. At least it appeared that way to me.
Just realized this today and thought that info might help some newer players who group with rogues for instances and such from breaking cc early. CC is a great tool that is shared by many classes, and its best to familiarize yourself with them like this to take full advatage of them.
Hoped that helped some for people who did not know that.

Only rogues can see that

Oh. I've never really spent much of any time on anything but a rogue so i was unaware of that.
My apologies for the waste of cyber space.
Edit: Then why do they bother to color code it if noone else in the group can see it to know instantly who's got what kind of cc on them. Makes little sense to me I sppose.

I believe rogues also see a little colour code that tells them which targets can be CC'd

Maybe there were too many rogues with poor memory? Who knows...

But it's never been a problem. It's fairly obvious which one has been sapped... the one that stands there looking like a sap...

I see when other people stun and cc mobs all the time. Try turning up your spell settings?

Um....you expect me, as a Hunter from 41 yards, to see a stun and turn off my pew pew? Unlikely.

I didn't realize that my sheep needed color coding....

My spell settings are on max. Do you play a rogue, ecanem?

I play a druid but I always see the swirls, stars and incapacitates above the mobs heads.

Yeah - i see those as well. What I am talking about is the symbols that rogues see letting them know if they can CC.

Warlock with spell quality on max and I can see these just fine from 30 yards out.

I never really noticed the colour coding before but I guess it is useful for Rogues since all their CC moves look the same, unlike mage's polymorph or hunter's ice trap, which are very distinctive.
