Most stuff on the Ninja tune label rocks my proverbial socks off. Especially the Herbaliser ;)
Also:
Cypress hill
Beach boys
Abba
Dead Kennedys (actually all Punk)
Any Ska (old or new)
Reggae
Techno and/or Trance
Folk music
Most Indie stuff
..................far too much other stuff to mention but these im listening to atm.
Yes I was serious about Abba - good grinding music. Belting out "money, money, money" or "gimme, gimme, gimme (a gnome after midnight)" certainly takes the monotony out of it ;)

Since you're saying "bands" I suppose we have to exclude single artists. In reality I have too many to count, but I guess there are certain songs which have stuck with me through the years, making me like them more than others.
Metallica.
RHCP.
Dave Matthew's Band (as well as his solo material).
The Fray
Machinae Supremacy.
Now, if we start taking into account the singular form I have a lot more.
Bach.
Mozart.
Pachelbel
Lots of classical stuff in general.

Zendarin. Indeed, Nuff said! Best band on the planet Rush. Got my tickets all sorted for this current tour :) Can't wait!
Also just got back into The Beyond. What a great band, shame they disbanded. If anyone likes rock/thrash this is band is a must but you'll have to hunt down the albums of which there are only 2. Try and get hold of the album called Crawl. Amazing stuff.

All sorts- the Bach is next to the Half Man Half Biscuit and the Aphex Twin in the rack.. :)
Right now I am really enjoying some fairly uptempo drum and bass from dnbpodcast.com-
http://ghostsofmylife.com/dnbpodcast/NK-InsidewiththeDJ.mp3
A nice Natural Kauses set.. Probably best not to listen to it if you're DPS in an aggro-sensitive raid encounter though, as you're bound to go a little overboard.. ahem :)

I've just discovered Podcasts.
what i like to do when I'm at work, is plug into my computer and turn on an old radio play show! It's great! they're 1hour long and I just do my work while listening to a murder mystery...and yes...sometimes I do end up getting scared!

Since I'm only familiar with about 1/4 (if that) of the bands mentioned.... I realize I am officially old. <sigh> Too bad as I was enjoying myself....
At work it's either easy listening (work music) or Big Band/40s stuff (generally - sometimes I switch it up). Don't know what it is, but working to Billie Holiday is just cool.... besides it really weirds people out when I go from hip hop or Top 40 to Ella Fitzgerald... Workmates look at me very strangely - I just smile. :)

I'm an old metalhead, grew up on bands like Iron Maiden, Saxon, Motorhead, Rainbow, Judas Priest etc.
My faves at the moment are probably Iced Earth, Annihilator, Overkill ...
Oh, and at work at the moment with my MP3 player on, currently listening to Aerosmith "Dude (Looks Like A Lady)".

I am a fan of: Tangerine Dream, Electric Disection (hehe, that is what I call myself, since I make music), Bone Thugz n Harmony, 3-6 Mafia, 50 Cent, G-Unit songs, Eminem, Jean Michel Jarre, and some others.
At the minute early punk is holding my attention. The Clash, Sex Pistols and the Ramones and getting a lot of playtime.
As for all time favourite, I'm really not sure.

The Fat boys . . . Crushin' - rofl j/k
http://991.com/newgallery/Fat-Boys-Crushin-298801.jpg
Seriously though, I like everything from Classical to HipHop to Drum and Bass (no country though please) - oh and I REALLY could do WITHOUT all this new "rock" that is actually emo ballads with rock / hip hop /punk tones . . . . the bands act all punk like and create a strong music bed which they then climb atop and whine . . . ughh lol So pretty much anything that's not Emo or Country or any band that's unsure of exactly what kind of music they're making lol
I love classic rock and jam bands as well.

Now you have to die, I have "That's Entertainment" stuck in my head. Ah well, it replaces "Teenage Kicks" by the Undertones which I heard on a radio someone had on earlier. Kinda makes all that manufactured, whiney, neckbeard-stroking emo faux post-punk fratboy posturing sound like the cumbersome, pompous meretricious toss that it really is.
(Trying to flush it out with some nosebleed-speed breakcore nonsense, but it ain't happening).

I'm like a giddy schoolgirl at the prospect of getting tickets to "Led Zeppelin to confirm reunion" on 13th November.

It'll probably be rip-tastic but I'd be willing to pay quite a bit to see them although the touts can go poke themselves. I'd not remortgage myself for it (although not far off).
