Hi, I'm a newbee to this forum and have a question so please be gentle...

I run WoW on Windows XP (not vista) and have Norton Internet Sercurity 2007 but I have been having trouble with the Auto Protect function.

It says its turned off and when I click fix now it just runs a Live Update and then the auto protect says error

Now - could Wow be affecting NIS? or is this a common problem with 2007??

as its my parents computer (which they are very scared off!!) and my mum is UTTERLY CONVINCED that it is WoW causing all the problems.....

but I think shes just saying that because I play it alot and she wants me off it...

has anyone else ome across the same problem???

Thanx

I've found Norton makes up these errors after a while no matter what. Nine months of use and it started acting up on one of my laptops. Wiped Norton, went with another AV and never had problems again.

After trying NIS 2004(the one that came with my first computer), and using it for a few months, i came to the realization that NIS just comes up with errors to keep itself busy.(lol jk)

I have never used it since then, and I'm a lot better off for it. If you are careful on the net you shouldn't have to worry about viruses, but avg is a better alternative to Norton if you must have an antivirus.
