Have done Ramparts, Blood Furnace, Old Hillsbrad, Black Morass, Mechanar and part of Shadow Labyrinth (should have no problem finishing, given a decent group).
Alliance mage. In my current gear self-buffed I have 6,200 health, 8,700 mana. Chance to crit fire 26.7%, rest 20.6%; crit would be lower without molten armor. +fire 530, rest +489. Gemmed for +18 stamina, +20 penetration and +16 crit. Totals +70 penetration, +0 hit. The penetration gems were supposed to be +damage/stamina, but our gemcutter screwed up :undecided:.
Can boost +damage, stamina, mana with gear swap but not all at the same time.
I have no enchants at the moment, not knowing what I'll keep for long. I can add modest +hit by swapping gear. 33/28/0 spec. May change that.
I carry Mana Wrath and +41 Elementalist Star of Fiery Wrath, so I could use an offhand upgrade.
Outland rep:
Revered--Kurenai (I can buy a +stats ring, that's about it)
Honored--Cenarion Expedition, Honor Hold, Scryers, Keepers of Time
Friendly--Consortium, Lower City, Sha'tar
Immediate plan is to grind Scryers rep and get Bloodgem, ring and spellthread patterns. Also, to get my tailoring up from 250. Would help if whatever I'm doing adds mats and gold.
Suggestions?

You could do worse than do some Mechanar/Botanica/Arcatraz- for Sha'tar and Scryers rep. All three have plenty of good drops, at least one has a nice offhand. More Black Morass is a good idea (mantle of three terrors, bloodfire greatstaff, or the nice offhand, just for starters).
If your guildies love you, you could run a few more steamvaults, get revered and get the heroic key for the coilfang instances (Cenarion revered). This gives you access to some of the easiest heroics- maybe it would be fun to try some with a friendly group who'd take care of you. This will mean you'll need a solid tank and a decent healer, of course- but it's fun.
I found that the Sunfury researchers outside the manaforges were very good for Arcane Tomes and Sunfury Signets btw- decent drop rate. You should be able to kill a load of them with a little bit of gathering up/frost nova/AoE :)

First off, shoot your gem cutter. Twice. Then replace those gems with anything you can to up +spell dmg, Spell hit, and stam.
If we could get an armory link, it might be helpful!
Your leveling up tailoring, which is great. Once you hit 375, you can get an extra crap-ton of spelldamage.
Get into instance groups for Shattered Halls and try to hit exalted with HH. Stormcaller is an excellent weapon.
Run as many heroics as you can to get the badges for your Flametongue Seal
PVP as often as you can for the cloak. One of the best ones you can get.
If you haven't already, get this quest for your jumpers: http://wowdigger.com/quest/view/10095/into-the-heart-of-the-labyrinth
If you haven't already, get your Evoker's Helmet of Second Sight
from completing the questline in Shadowmoon Valley. It is probably the best headpiece you can get short of 25 mans or spellstrike.
Which brings me to....Get spellstrike. Anybody can wear it, regardless of tailoring level. It will be expensive, but you can easily farm all the mats for it except the Spellcloth. IMO, unless you have incredibly awesome pants, replace those first. Your evokers helm is nearly as good as the spellstrike hood. And by nearly I mean not nearly at all, but I didn't come across any decent pants that came anywhere NEAR as good as the spellstrike.
After you get your Spellstrike legs, (or while...) farm 10 primal manas and pay somebody for their nether to get the Scryer exalted spellthread.
Get Shattrath Wraps vie the quest http://wowdigger.com/quest/view/10091/the-soul-devices or get the PVP wrists or get the tailor-made Bracers of Havoc

When I last looked at this, my gear was all fouled up, but you can see the two stupid penetration gems in my Evoker's Helm.

I've decided my first priority is to level mining, for grinding purposes. I want to be able to take the nodes I encounter in Outland. My miner friends gather large numbers of gems. I'll go to Theramore to train tailoring then fly to Nigel's Point to make mithril runs.
Shouldn't take long to get to 300 tailoring, but from there it looks difficult and expensive. Then comes the primal nether part.
As instances go, I guess I will focus on Shadow Labyrinth and Arcatraz, with Shattered Halls still on my wish list (very hard to find a group, guild or pug).

So of course I end up back in the Mechanar. Bloodfyre Robes of Annihilation and Manual of the Nethermancer. For the first time ever, I am showing up in the top 6-8 in damage in Alterac Valley.

Instead of starting a new thread i will just hijack this one a bit.
I am so confused with the sheer amount of reputation out there to work on and of course the main focus is to get kara keyed?
So i JUST hit 70 and after a day of flying around. I want to know where do I go? Who do I talk to and get started on the Kara key quest chain?
I need something like "Getting Keyed For Karazhan for Dummies" version please?
Thanks.

You simply go to Karazhan! There's two quests there that gets you started on the chain. Karazhan lies in Deadwind pass, east of Duskwood.

Start the attunement by all means, but if you're like most (incl me) you need gear upgrades. Going into Kara with meh gear is no fun. Research the blues available for each slot - you should be able some from a combination of quests and instances - and upgrade. Put in dcent gems, enchant with good enchants.
Also, there's a LOT to do post-70. Look at the rep rewards and see which re good for you. Some of the factions have instances associated with them and once you hit Revered you can run the heroic versions of those instances. THere are epics in there which will help you improve your gear too.
Finally, raid Kara by all means... but it's not the only or even the best way to spend time at 79

the best thing i would say to do is make a start on kara attunement and keep running the other instances to get revered with the factions for your heroic keys. as you keep running you get some nice drops on the way
