Hello there. Let me start out by saying that I'm going mining/skinning until a bit after 40 so i can get my mount on my own cash. That being said, I'm not sure if I'm going elemental or enhancement but I'm only 24. I have time.

That being said, at the moment I'm leaning a little bit towards engineering, but I'm not sure what's out there. However, blacksmithing makes some very good weapons, and I wonder if those'll be worth it if i go enhancement. To add to that, I keep hearing people say that leatherworking can make some good stuff, but I don't hear anything that people say a person MUST have like the tailoring enchants.

Any insight would be helpful.

its all down to end game at lvl 70 and what you want to be doing. your best bet is to stay as skinning and mining until you are high 60's and have made several thjousand gold out of selling every thing. then check out the eng goggles and epic l/w patterns for a shammy. then you can go and do either trade or both trades as you will have made enough money to cover any outlays in lvling up the skill and as you go up the lvls check the ah every 2 or 3 lvls to buy good gear

Don't..pick..bloody..lw.. most useless tradeskill in the game imo.

For Enhancement, Blacksmithing is your best friend.
For any other spec: Engineering or Alchemy (pvp or pve, basically)

sadly, i've heard many people saw LW is a pretty useless tradeskill as well :\

That being said, if I go blacksmithing (I guess I'll decide later on if I'm going ele or enh...I have lots of time), should I focus on crafting one 2H weapon or two 1H weapons?

I'll definitely be following the advice of selling selling selling and making $$$ until the upper 60s though. that sounds pretty sound. Also, I have another character who has 375 mining, so if all else fails I could get blacksmithing and engineering. that could be fun.

dwarfenhelm is right... switch in the high 60s.

Here's the thing.. There are a few LW items that are GREAT for rogues. Better than comparable items in Kara... but if you're not a leather wearer... forget it. The very cool items are BoP, so you can't sell them. There ARE some very nice BoE craftables, but they sell for roughly the cost of the mats used to make them... so they aren't a way to make money.

ummm...

LW (dragon and tribal) can create some of the best sets of gear for enhance and elemental shaman. Many, many enhancement shamans are wearing the netherstrike set into SSC.

BS is really only good for weapons... and Melee DPS weapons at that

Engineering is just cool if you can spare the tradeskill.

U pick a crafting profession based on what you can use, not to make money.
