ive been reading around on different forums and i have 1 thing to say......
How many of you take this game overly serious?
there seems to be alot of people who seem to thinks its like....life or sumthing?
i just think its kinda funny

"not meant in an offensive way, just thought some of what ive read was a little o.t.t"
want to know if any others think the same way about this.

Q.Any 1 else feel the same?

Of course people takes the game too seriously, the only way not to would be to go around all day talking about bananas. It's about a million small coloured dots switching around and you actually pay for it.

To be fair to those who confuse the game with the real world, WoW has got a larger population than several countries (mine, to mention one) and, for that matter, more ppl playing it than any one person is likely to encounter in a lifetime: They day has only got 24 hours. At that scale it's easy to lose yourself.

As for myself, I speak about bananas a lot. I prefere them with just a little bit of green.

I play WoW alot (sometimes 6 hours after work, i.e my entire evening)

But it doesnt get in the way of my life. There have been times where i wont play for days, if ive got alot happening socially. I play WoW when i otherwise would be at home doing nothing (watching tv, a film or browsing online)

I think if you get to the stage where you cancel outings with friends & family when is you should start to worry.

Do i play alot? yes. Does it get in the way of my life? no

some take it too seriously...others don't.
some take golf too seriously...others don't.
some take work to seriously...others don't.
some take running too seriously...others don't.

some take other peoples own lives too seriously...others don't.
some take me too seriously...others don't.

i don't understand why it's ok for someone to be into golf/football/baseball/etc just as much as wow, and it's ok...as long as you take a healthy approach to anything and not let it dominate you to the point of addiction, what's wrong with it?

As long as you don't let it become the ONLY thing you do . . . in other words . . .still go out and party, go to the new club and the after hours after it closes and don't come home till noon the next day , go to a movie with friends, log out for dinner with your wife, etc, etc . . . it's the people with nothing to do that end up playing 10+ hours a day that might have a problem . . . as that can be dangerous to your health physically and mentally IMO.

But, I see many people that let the game control them in more ways than one . . . like some guildie was seriously pissed . . .every day he was just soooo pissed off that he didn't get pieces of his BM set for his hunter - it's all he talked about - all he complained about - he told us he dreamed about it (not that having a wow dream is bad - but he was having nightly dreams and still woke up pissed) it was seriously too much. Once he finally got almost all his pieces the guild actually cheered for themselves as they were happy to not have to hear it anymore.

Ha, I have a guy in my guild that takes this game too seriously. He told me that the game "IS his life"...

I play this game a lot, and I love it, but it's MOST CERTAINLY not my life >.<

haha, nice, some wide opinions, well, as long as u all enjoy it and dont get brain washed every1 is happy....

and as for the post about its ok for people to be the same with sports etc....i agree people do get like that with other things but i know if i was a parent or if it was 1 of my younger bro's or sisters id prefer them to play 10+ ours of football or basketball a day instead of on there pc, main reason coz then they wont turn into a fatty and die :D...i spend alot of time on the pc wen i have nowt to do but it bums me out...:( id much prefer to ahve plans ^^

any1 seen the wow south park episode? that cracks me up every time!!

It's just a game. Yes, I take my role in a group seriously when I play, but it most certainly is not my life.

If WoW IS your life, then you really need to get away from the computer and explore everything planet earth has to offer.

Maybe its because I'm older or maybe it's because I spend 8+ hours a day on a PC at work. I just can't see it as anything more then a game. Yes, there is a social aspect but it's no replacement for real human interaction. I gain more pleasure sitting around a bonfire in my back yard with my RL friends then I do questing/instancing with them.

I voted the 3rd option: But I will add, its frustrating when you start an instance and someone says "damn I have to go". After asking everyone if they can play for the next few hours. I understand breaks, brb's and hang on secs'... but come on people, please don't kid yourself into thinking your going to play for 3 hours straight knowing something has come up! SIGH

And for PUG's that say "Gotto go, Guild needs me". Please don't join random groups LFM if your going to do that! Rrrrr

Rant end.
