Can you change the order of your toons on the selection screen?

I would prefer to have something like

lvl.70 Hunter
lvl.56 Warlock
lvl.25 Mage
lvl.1 Rogue

instead of having it like:

lvl.70 Hunter
lvl.25 Mage
lvl.1 Rogue
lvl.56 WArlock

So, can you change the order? if you can how?

Not in any way that's practical. The order is mostly determined by the order the characters were created in. Occasionally, database server replacements or other maintenance on that level might disturb the order. Other than that, the order is fixed.

For an impractical solution, you can transfer your characters to another server, making sure to transfer them in the order that you want them to appear. This takes either being on an overcrowded server that has free transfers, or $25 a character. It also means leaving any friends/enemies/guildies behind, unless they transfer as well.

Why you can't I still do not know. I'm shocked they don't have something client-side that can rearrange them. But unfortunately it's currently impossible, and the devs have shown little interested in wasting time on such unimportant changes (especially with such pressing content and balance issues on hand).

I don't know, this may be a lot more complicated to program than I think, but it seems the ideal would be to just make the toon list a drag and drop, the same way sections of the "My Yahoo" page can be moved up or down the order to suit one's personal taste. Any moderator-techies around that can make a statement as to whether this is feasible?

I guess I would abuse that system if it allowed me to arrange the toons, but a system where they are arranged by level (autmatically) would be cool...

Sorting shouldn't be at all difficult to implement.

I was wondering the same thing. I couldn't find a way to rearrange them to the order I want. I guess you will have to stick with what you have.
